To celebrate a wonderful year together, our 3rd–5th grade students enjoyed a day at the ballpark cheering on the Iowa Cubs! It was the perfect opportunity to make lasting memories, enjoy time with friends, and celebrate all of the hard work, growth, and accomplishments from this school year. Mrs. Castellano even caught a hot-dog!!

From baseball and sunshine to laughter and friendship, it was a day our students won’t soon forget. What a great way to wrap up an incredible year!

School may be out… but who’s still in the building?

Our teachers spent their final day together in the chapel, reflecting on the many blessings, accomplishments, and growth of our students throughout the year. We prayed, laughed, and even shed a few tears as we celebrated another wonderful year at STCS.

Afterward, our Core Team met to review and strengthen our MTSS systems, ensuring that we have the supports and structures in place to best meet the needs of every student.

While summer has officially begun, the work of serving our students and helping them succeed continues.

Our last day of school was filled with one of our favorite traditions—the All-School Talent Show! 🎭🎶🎻

It was extra special to welcome back our eighth graders, who helped run the show and made the day even more memorable. We were amazed by the many talents of our students—from playing the cello and singing to dancing, comedy, and even a fashion show!

With more than 30 acts, the talent show was a wonderful celebration of the creativity, courage, and gifts God has given each of our students. We are so proud of everyone who stepped onto the stage and shared their talents with our school community. What a fun and joyful way to end an incredible school year!

During STEM class, first-grade students are learning about the phases of the moon and how the moon follows a repeating pattern.

They have learned that, in the Northern Hemisphere, the illuminated portion of the moon appears on the right side first as the moon waxes.

Students created models of the moon’s phases using Play-Doh to demonstrate their understanding of the lunar cycle. After completing their models, students were given time to explore their creativity by using the Play-Doh to make objects of their choice!

Teacher Appreciation Week left our hearts (and snack drawers!) very full!

A huge thank you to our incredible leadership team, generous parents, and thoughtful students for the beautiful flowers, delicious snacks, sweet treats, and heartfelt cards. Your kindness and encouragement mean so much to our teachers and staff.

We feel incredibly blessed to work in a community that goes above and beyond to make educators feel valued and appreciated. Thank you for reminding us how loved and supported we are each day!

We are grateful for each of you and our community.

Our 4th grade students spent the day stepping back in time during their Iowa history field trip to Pella! 🌷

They explored the beautiful Vermeer Windmill, visited the Historical Village to experience what life was like for early settlers, and learned more about Pella’s rich Dutch heritage along the way. Students also enjoyed stopping by one of Pella’s famous bakeries for a sweet treat—because no trip to Pella is complete without it!

From walking through historic buildings to learning about Iowa’s past firsthand, this trip was filled with meaningful lessons, fun experiences, and memories made with friends. We love seeing learning come to life beyond the classroom walls!

Our God is an awesome God.

Today, our track team had their last practice before the championship meet. Fr. Reed asked the team if they would like a blessing and to pray as a team before their meet.

Let’s go, STCS!

We love our volunteers!

Have you ever wondered who is behind the camera capturing so many special moments at our school events? It’s Lauren Campbell! Lauren is a parent of a 1st grader and works incredibly hard to provide beautiful photos for families to cherish for years to come. From Grandparents Day and First Communion to sporting events and so much more—she helps preserve so many meaningful memories for our school community.

The Castellano family has also enjoyed using her Photo Booth for various events, and we can personally say she does an amazing job!

Here is the link to view our school photos. Please take a moment to give her a shout-out and say thank you—we truly appreciate her talent, generosity, and service!

Have you ever traveled to West Bend, Iowa?

That’s where you’ll find the incredible Grotto of the Redemption—one of the largest man-made grottos in the world! Our 7th and 8th grade students recently took a trip to explore this beautiful and historic site while learning about its rich history and significance. They started their day with Mass.

Students discovered that the grotto was created by Father Paul Dobberstein over the course of more than 40 years using precious stones, gems, fossils, and minerals from around the world. They toured the stunning grottos, learned about scenes from the life of Jesus, and experienced firsthand the faith, dedication, and craftsmanship that make this Iowa landmark so special.

It was a meaningful day of learning, reflection, and appreciation for a true hidden gem right here in Iowa!
