In 2007, Karen Refugee began to settle in Iowa. May God bless them all.

By God goodness, Mr.Ron and Kathy's family blessed a few new Karen Seventh Day Adventist members. They introduced us to the Des Moines SDA church, and we began to attend the services. Sayar Thang guided our small group. By God's mercy, more Karen people became SDA in 2008. We worship in our Karen language under the leadership of Pastor Stephen Po. We worshiped at the Des Moines SDA Church's baseme

nt in the student chapel area. We appreciate the numerous community members who remained devoted and endured during challenging times. Many thanks to all of the pastors and the Des Moines SDA Church family who have served this church and community. In 2010, we received a vision from God and began to move forward, building a ministry worthy of the Karen SDA group members. God had wonderfully blessed our church, allowing us to preach the gospel with other Karen community members; many accepted Jesus and pledged to serve the Lord at any cost. In 2011, Sayar Thang again helped lead our group, and we would like to thank him for his spiritual leadership. Since the installation of Pastor Stephen Po in February 2013, we have grown to a church of approximately 150 members. By God's mercy, we became a company on November 21, 2015, and continue to grow. We were blessed in 2020 to be able to purchase a building and begin our journey to becoming a full church on December 9, 2023. As proud as we are of our church and our successes, we understand that it’s only by the Grace and Goodness of God that we are where we are. May we, as a church family, remain humble so that we can continue to serve others and hear our Lord exclaim, "Well done, my good and faithful servants." We Thank the Iowa- Missouri SDA conference leadership for caring for our Karen family. Thank you everyone. May God bless you.
