Remember - even God took the time to rest. And when he needed it,
Jesus prayed,
Jesus slept,
Jesus rested and told others to do the same,
and Jesus feasted.
All ways to find rest in relationship and faith.

Day 5 - our final day at Rainforest Falls! Today Howie the Howler Monkey taught us all about the truth that God is forever! We talked about the joys of God's foreverness all around us and the joys of God's foreverness that continues even after out lives come to an end. We played games, made rain clouds full of shaving cream and food coloring, and even had a real volcano fog machine rumble to send us off into the world! (Which may have also set off our fire alarm system and so we also got to see a fire truck, but that's a story for another day...) A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who made it possible to have such an incredible experience at Rainbow Falls! God is so good and all we can say after such a fun week is WOW GOD!!

VBS Day 4 - today we learned all about how God is love! We learned from Tia the Giant Anteater that God's love is poured out on all of creation, from the smallest ant to the biggest whales and everyone in between. We talked about how God's love covers all of us no matter what and that every single person is loved by God. We had a ton of fun in games, crafts, and sharing in snack time. Tune in tomorrow for our very last day at Rainforest Falls!

Day 3 - Vacation Bible School and our Rainforest Falls adventure continued today as we learned together about what it means for God to be our safe place! We grounded ourselves in scripture by learning that God is our refuge and we learned all about safe places in the rainforest from our friend Dottie the Ocelot. We encountered King David himself in our bible adventuring, got to try and untangle Dr. Flutterby from his butterfly net, and learned about what it means to be safe places for other people. Tomorrow the fun continues as we learn all about God being the source of all love!

Special shout out to our youth for leading the dancing during our theme song!

Day 2 at Vacation Bible School - today's adventures through Rainforest Falls taught us that God knows everything. God knows what an ants eye looks like, what a moths wing feels like, and God knows exactly what's going on in our hearts, our minds, and our spirits. God knows everything! And even though God knows everything, God still loves us. Which means that no matter what questions we have, what grumpiness we feel, or what loneliness we're worried about, God still loves us and wants the best for us. Our friend, Seymour the Glass Frog, taught us that God loves us even if we have translucent skin like him and you can see all our insides! The Rainforest Falls adventure continues tomorrow!

Day 1 of VBS - a great day! We learned all about how God is our creator, that God created places as wild and diverse as the rainforest, and that God created each of us to be unique, diverse and totally special! We learned that God makes beautiful birds and biting piranhas, slithering snakes and the gorgeous waterfalls throughout the world. Wow God! That takes a lot of creativity and imagination! The joy and fun continues tomorrow!

Calling all festive and fun Gracers! GLC is walking in the Waterland Parade this Saturday and there's still time and space to join in on the fun! If you would rather ride in the van, you are welcome to join. All ages welcome and encouraged. We'll drive the van, hand out candy, and generally shine God's light as we represent GLC and the church at large. Grace Gear encouraged! Check-in is at 5, we start walking at 6.
