With Pentecost we sought to represent the community of saints throughout time and place. All people, welcome, seated together around the table, the eucharist and Mary the Mother of God at the center. The Holy Spirit in the form of a dove lighting the fire above the heads of those below.

Fun Fact Friday - Historic buildings were designed and built to act as a microphone to help sound travel. This beautiful pipe organ, housed at Trinity Las Américas United Methodist Church, was built by the Hinners Organ Company, one of the most prominent organ builders in the Midwest in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

For all those who can’t be with their Moms tomorrow.…

This Icon is a study for an upcoming Icon I hope to finish in the future based on Cimabue’s “The Assumption of Mary” fresco painted between 1272 and 1280 on the apse in the upper Church of San Francesco in Assisi, the Mother Church of the Franciscan Order.

The original fresco had faded badly over time but was completely destroyed by an Earthquake in 1997. It was such a lovely unique image. Mary rests her head on Christ’s shoulder while Jesus hugs her tenderly.
