Help feed our neighbors in need! We are collecting homemade frozen meals to deliver to the St. Mark's Neighborhood Fridge in West Des Moines and other local organizations. Pick up free pans with lids—available in 9x13", 8x8", or 9" round—along with sample recipes on Sunday, Sept. 6 or Sept. 13. Cook your meal, freeze it, and clearly mark the ingredients on the lid. Drop off your completed casseroles at the church on Sunday, Sept. 20 or Sept. 27.

If you cannot make a casserole, canned food donations are also welcome. Look out for future drives coming in November, January, and March. Thank you for your support!

Come listen to Dr. Jean Logan talk about her book Broadlawns: A Century of Caring. It chronicles the hospital's history from its origins as a tuberculosis hospital in 1924 through its evolution into a vital public medical center. Jean will be joined by President and CEO Proctor Lureman who will offer his insights.

Please make a reservation before September 15 by calling the Central office at 515-279-3658, emailing [email protected], or using the sign up sheet in the East Parlor. A meal will be served for $10.

This week we are joined by guest pastor Jim Hayes. Jim Hayes is the Executive Director of the Mind and Spirit Counseling Center as well as a Spiritual Director there. He is passionate about walking with people as they explore how to live a full life. We are also fortunate to have him as our interim Wednesday Bible Study teacher at Central.
