School’s out, but church is in full swing! All are welcome to join Luther Memorial Church for a new three-week sermon series! Summer is the perfect time to enjoy America’s pastime, but baseball offers more than just entertainment. Throughout this three-week series, we’ll discover how the game points us toward deeper truths about following Jesus. Church starts at 10:30 am!
July 12th is outdoor worship on our church patio with a free potluck to follow, but the other three weeks, we’ll see you in the sanctuary!

Orientation Day 4/4: Meet the Campus Pastor!

Pastor Emily Martin came on board in March 2026. She serves as GV’s pastor as well as pastor of Luther Memorial Church and Grand View Lutheran Church (so she’s a little busy!)

Pastor Emily is originally from Davenport and attended ISU and Luther Seminary. Prior to this position, she served as associate pastor at Cambridge Lutheran Church in Cambridge, Minnesota. She’s excited to be back in Iowa and closer to family.

Fun facts about Pastor Emily: she crocheted and gave away ten blankets last year, and she has an Instagram page that’s just for baking projects.

GV Orientation Round 3: Meet the Director of Faith Life!

I’m Rachel Cohen, and my job along with our Campus Pastor is to oversee all of our faith-based programming at GV. I’m a GV alum and love working for my alma mater. Grand View has a bunch of faith-based clubs you can participate in, and we’re growing every year!

Our main goal is to make sure that every student has their spiritual needs met during their time here. We operate under the motto, “You are welcome, you are valued, you are loved,” and it’s our biggest hope that every student feels that.

Fun fact about me: I love to travel (though I don’t do it as often as I would like!). My favorite trip was in 2019 when my Mom and I traveled to Ireland and Scotland together.
