We’re celebrating the start of a new school year, a new season of faith, and our wonderful Wakonda community!
Join us Sunday, September 13 at 10:00 AM for outdoor worship. Bring your lawn chair and come ready to celebrate!
Kids, don’t forget your backpacks! We’ll be blessing backpacks and students as they head into a new school year, and our rising 1st and 6th graders will receive a bible.
After worship, stick around for a picnic! Bring a side dish or dessert to share, then enjoy an afternoon of fun with a bounce house and face painting for everyone!

Last Sunday, Wakonda celebrated our new membership in AMOS, Central Iowa’s local community organizing chapter of the Industrial Areas Foundation, by joining their 30th Anniversary Convention!

Over the past year, AMOS has listened to people and communities across Central Iowa to identify the issues that matter most. Together, they have identified five priorities for our work: water quality, EMS response, support for vulnerable seniors, public education, and immigrant and refugee support.

Wakonda was there to cheer, listen, learn, and get to work. Susan Thies and Diana Babberl have been working hard to recruit and build AMOS involvement here at Wakonda, while Pastor Robyn took part in the roll call.

Community organizing is about believing that when ordinary people come together, listen to one another, and act collectively, we can create meaningful change. We’re excited to be part of this work! 💙

We had a BALL at the Iowa Cubs game yesterday!

We love finding ways to spend time together as a church family outside of Sunday mornings, and last night was definitely a home run! It was the perfect way to continue our Baseball Movie Sermon Series and enjoy a little fellowship along the way.

And we're not done with baseball yet! Our Baseball Movie Sermon Series continues this month. Come join us as we step up to the plate for two more Sundays:
