Hey all! Katherine here. You may have noticed that our social media has been a bit quiet lately….

That’s partially because we’ve had lots of babies born in the last few weeks. But we’ve also had some news we’ve been waiting to share.

I have accepted a position with another local homebirth practice, Heart of Iowa Midwifery. I will be phasing out of solo practice over the next few months and start at Heart of Iowa on November 1st. I will be working with a dear friend and colleague, Kayla Harajli.

I have very much enjoyed solo practice, but work-life balance can be hard to maintain as a solo midwife. I am looking forward to sharing on-call time so I can re-charge and be more present with my family.

I will be available for well-woman appointments and have space for 1-2 October due dates for homebirth. If you’re interested in working together after November 1st, please reach out over at Heart of Iowa. 🩷

This year has been full of ups & downs, births, babies, losses, tears, and love. I am so grateful to have had the privilege to serve these families. For me, the best part of being a midwife is getting to know amazing women on a deeper level. The relationships I have gained through birth work are so precious to me. I am excited to continue to do this work, just in a different setting. 🩷

Our baby board got a little fuller this month! Six sweet July babies joined the world, and each one has left their own little mark on us. Every birth is different, every family is unique, and it’s such an honor to be invited into these first moments of a new life.
