Today was the last service in my grandma's church. A church her in laws founded. She's been a member since it was constructed, all of her children brought up in the church, and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren brought to. Where she and my grandpa sang in the choir, joined church sports teams and many other church groups. She saw some of her children and even grandchildren married there. I was baptized there. Brooklyn Klinger and Truman Rodman were baptized there. All who came after my cousin Jennifer wore the gown a family friend made, although it was a tight squeeze on my little bouncing baby boy 👶 My first baby shower was in that church. I couldn't count how many ladies banquets I attended before Mother's Day, always with corsages. Where the bibles and hymnals have the Collins name in them. And where we said goodbye to my grandpa, always a loud, boisterous, joking voice heard all around the church. I just want to remember and honor all the memories made, relationships made with God, and innumerable hours of service given with love by my grandparents Ray and Louise Collins, and great-grandparents T.Ray and Corale Collins. My grandma is 97 years old and has been a member of Christ United Methodist Church since before she was married, and today she saw it de-consecrated. Sadness was felt, but so many more memories were shared. ❤️

The end! Our church is officially closed as of today. Many friendships and memories that will always be with us.
