An Important Update About Grace’s Music Ministry 🎶
Today, we shared an important transition in the life of Grace United Methodist Church.
At the end of this month, Ann Gerdom will be stepping down from her role as Grace’s Director of Music and organist.
Ann’s ministry at Grace has been so much more than playing the organ or selecting music for worship. Through her extraordinary talent, faithful leadership, and deep love for this congregation, Ann has helped shape the worship life of Grace.
Her music has accompanied us through joyful celebrations, sacred seasons, and tender moments of grief. She has helped us praise, pray, remember, grieve, and experience the presence of God.
Week after week, Ann has offered her gifts with excellence and care. She has encouraged musicians, strengthened our worship, and helped preserve the rich musical tradition that has long been part of Grace. The countless hours she has given in preparation, rehearsal, planning, and service cannot be fully measured.
Ann leaves behind a remarkable legacy of musical excellence, faithful service, and love for Grace United Methodist Church. We are profoundly grateful for all she has given to this congregation.
❤️ Next Sunday, we will take time during worship to honor Ann and celebrate her ministry among us. We invite you to bring cards, personal notes, or other tokens of appreciation as we surround Ann with the love and gratitude she so deeply deserves.
As we prepare for this transition, we are also excited to share that, following a search, prayerful discernment, and interviews by our Staff-Parish Relations Committee, Eric Mohlis will be joining Grace as our new Director of Music.
Eric’s first Sunday with us will be September 6, and we look forward to welcoming him warmly as he begins this new chapter of ministry with us.
In this season of both gratitude and new beginnings, we give thanks for Ann, for the incredible ministry she has shared with Grace, and for the ways God continues to lead us forward.
Please join us next Sunday as we celebrate Ann and say thank you for a ministry that has meant so much to so many. ❤️🎶
