Lord, it makes me sad to see that there is division and disunity within my family, my parish community, and the world around me. Yet, how much more your heart must ache and suffer for your beloved children! How and in what way do you need me to be an instrument of unity and reconciliation? Have I made you happy with how I love others and build up your Kingdom? Where can I still grow to reach out and invite others to return to you? You know how much I want to follow you and live in your friendship. I want to love others with a courageous and selfless heart. Touch my heart with the fire of your love to be your apostle of peace and unity.

Today, we remember Saint Zachary the Prophet, a voice of courage for a people who had returned from exile only to face the hard, slow labor of rebuilding. His message was not glamorous, but it was full of hope: the Lord remembers. Zachary teaches us that holiness often looks like faithfulness in the rubble. It is the decision to pray again, forgive again, build again, worship again, and trust again. He pointed Israel toward restoration, and his prophecies still lead Christian hearts toward Christ, the humble King who comes with mercy. For every person rebuilding a life, a family, a vocation, a parish, or a wounded heart, Zachary’s witness says that God is not finished. The Lord remembers his promises, and he meets us in the work.
