Last Shabbat, P.J. began unpacking a topic that touches many of us more deeply than we realize:
“Healing Our Distorted View of the Will of God and What He Expects.”
For many believers, the Will of God can feel confusing, intimidating, or even exhausting.
Have you ever wondered:
• If things aren’t going well, does that mean I’m outside of God’s Will?
• If life is going smoothly, am I somehow doing something wrong?
• Did I ruin God’s plan for my life because of a bad decision—or a series of them?
• What if I chose incorrectly and disappointed Him?
• How can I move forward faithfully when I’m uncertain about what to do?
Many of us live with chronic guilt, constant second-guessing, and the fear that every decision is a spiritual test with only one “correct” answer.
But what if we’ve confused God’s moral Will with our personal preferences?
What if faith isn’t about fearfully trying to decode every detail of God’s plan, but instead learning to walk in wisdom, maturity, and trust?
Fear-based faith asks:
“Which choice is God’s Will, and which choice is disobedience?”
Healthy faith asks:
“Which opportunity best aligns with the wisdom God has given me?”
“Which choice helps me flourish?”
“Which option supports my responsibilities, relationships, and spiritual health?”
P.J. also challenged us with some personal inventory questions:
• What am I most afraid of?
• What do I believe will happen if I choose incorrectly?
• Do I view God as a guide, an examiner, a disappointed supervisor…or as a loving Father?
If you’ve ever struggled with fear, uncertainty, guilt, or decision-making in your walk with God, we encourage you to watch and share this teaching.
Our prayer is that it challenges you, encourages you, and perhaps even begins a process of healing.
