5th Sunday Singing @ Galilee Baptist Church

Mt. Carmel Baptist Church enjoyed a great evening of singing and fellowship last night at Galilee Baptist Church! We were glad to see several churches from our area represented as we shared songs and worshiped with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

The men in attendance sung a wonderful rendition of “I’ll Fly Away.”

Thank you to Galilee Baptist Church for hosting a great night of worship and fellowship!

What Are You Carrying?

This Sunday in Sunday School, we focused on Matthew 6 and Jesus’ reminder that we don’t have to carry the worries of tomorrow. 💛

We talked with our students about how easy it is to fill our hearts and minds with worries—school, friends, family, the future, and all the “what ifs” that can weigh us down. But God reminds us that He knows what we need, He cares for us, and we can trust Him with our worries.

To help bring the lesson to life, Mr. Trent volunteered to carry this backpack, which was filled with books representing all the worries we carry with us each day. 🎒📚 As the backpack got heavier, it was a great picture of how exhausting it can be when we try to carry everything on our own.

Our students were reminded that we can give those burdens to the Lord and trust Him to carry what we cannot.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.” — Matthew 6:34

Sometimes we just need to stop, pray, and remember: That’s not my burden to carry. I can give it to God. 🙏💙

What a wonderful lesson for our kids—and for all of us!

☀️🌊 Summer Soul Squad! 🌊☀️

Vacations, road trips, and summer camps may have our Squad scattered in different directions, but on Wednesday nights, we still come together for fun, fellowship, and learning more about the Lord! 💙📖

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve had plenty of water-slide fun while learning an important lesson about sin. Once sin gets started, it can be difficult to stop—kind of like trying to stop on your way down an oil-covered water slide! 😆🛝 The more you slide, the harder it can be to find your footing. But just like the Lord is there to help us when we fall, He is always ready to forgive us and help us get back on the right path.

📖 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9

We’ve also been exploring the amazing world of God’s Creation and discovering that everything has a purpose—even YOU! 🌎🐢 God created each of us wonderfully and gave us a purpose in His plan.

📖 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” — Psalm 139:14

We learned about the important role sea turtles play in God’s great creation and how we can do our part to care for the world He has entrusted to us. 🌊🐢

📖 “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof.” — Psalm 24:1

Summer may be busy, but there’s always room for a little more Jesus, fun, and Soul Squad! ❤️ Come out tonight for another great Wednesday as we continue to learn, grow, laugh, and discover more about our amazing God and His wonderful creation!

☀️💦 Fun in the Sun with Our Soul Squad Littles!

What a fantastic day at Toledo Bend Family Adventure Park! From floating the lazy river to racing down the waterslides, our Littles made the most of every splash. We topped it all off with pizza, plenty of laughs, and sweet fellowship.

Days like these remind us that some of the best memories are made when we slow down, spend time together, and enjoy God’s blessings. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special!

We’re already looking forward to our next adventure! ❤️

🎉 Summer Soul Squad has been one for the books! ☀️💦

The last two Wednesdays have been packed with hands-on lessons, laughter, and plenty of unforgettable moments! We celebrated a sweet birthday 🎂, learned that sin always has consequences by totaling a refrigerator with the “Pick Your Hammer” challenge 🔨, and got absolutely soaked during our water balloon battle while asking an important question: What are people really seeing in us? Are we reflecting Jesus? 💙💧

Every week is filled with fun, but every activity points back to God’s Word.

🌊 Join us tonight at 6:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church as we cool off with our Slip ’N Slide Night! Bring clothes you don’t mind getting wet in and come ready for another evening of fun, friends, and faith. We can’t wait to see you! 🙌

Mt. Carmel’s Summer Soul Squad has been having a blast on Wednesday nights!

So far, we’ve learned that the Holy Spirit helps us do things better—kind of like trying to unroll a roll of toilet paper by yourself versus launching it across the yard with a leaf blower! Which is faster? Going it alone or letting the Holy Spirit help guide you?

We’ve also survived “Sick Smoothies” The kids enjoyed some delicious smoothies… with a few mystery ingredients thrown into the mix. Cayenne pepper? Maybe. “Goat p**p?” According to Mrs. Amy, absolutely!

The funny part? Every single kid sat there and watched Mrs. Amy drink her “goat p**p smoothie” and didn’t try to stop her! For a full 20 minutes they thought it was actually p**p! 😂 When the big reveal came that it was really just Raisinets, one kid summed it up perfectly:

“You made it sound so healthy!”

We’ve had a lot of laughs while learning some important lessons about letting good things into our hearts and minds and following God’s direction for our lives.

You don’t want to miss tomorrow night! It involves sledgehammers, sunglasses, and another unforgettable lesson!
