At St. Mary, we believe that caring for our community goes beyond our own walls, and that includes supporting every kid right here in Derby. 🐾

Our neighbors at Derby Public Schools USD 260 are hosting a Community Garage Sale this week, and the cause behind it is one close to our hearts: making sure no student goes to school hungry. Every dollar raised goes toward the Community Assistance School Lunch Program, which helps ensure every child has access to a nutritious meal.

One of the best ways to get involved is to volunteer! A few hours of your time can go a long way in making this event a success for families across our community. Some of our parishioners are already signed up! Consider joining them by signing up here: https://bit.ly/2026SaleVolunteers

The Community Garage Sale with a Purpose: No Child Goes Hungry is almost here!

➡️ By request, we are offering ONE additional drop-off opportunity on Tuesday, June 2, from 5-6PM. Please note that at this drop-off, we will accept all items except additional clothing. With the rain in the forecast for the next few days, it's a great time to clean out those closets!

➡️ Then it’s time to shop! Join us June 4-6 at 222 E. Madison in Derby to find some great new-to-you treasures. We also have volunteer opportunities available during the sale: https://bit.ly/2026SaleVolunteers.

➡️ Garage Sale Hours:
• June 4: 6:30AM-6PM
• June 5: 6:30AM-5PM
• June 6: 6:30AM-4PM

Panther Pac will be cooking burgers and hot dogs each day of the sale from 10:30AM-2PM.

We also have an additional clean-up day on Sunday, June 7. Any remaining clothing is being brought to Cooper Elementary to again set up the "Cooper Boutique" and provide free clothing to families in the Oaklawn community.

➡️ Mascot Mania: Join us on Saturday, June 6, 11AM-12PM, for a fun family activity where kids can meet all the Derby Public Schools mascots and special mascots from McConnell AFB and Culver's, along with free Culver’s custard (donations appreciated). Bring the kids by during the community garage sale, grab lunch from Panther Pac and/or custard from Culver's and stick around for the smiles! 💚

On June 11, the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, as part of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. What a beautiful way to mark this milestone as a nation.

And today is the perfect time to prepare. The Novena to the Sacred Heart runs June 3–11, concluding with the consecration itself. Each day takes just a few minutes and draws from the Litany of the Sacred Heart.

In most dioceses of the United States, the Church will celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi this year on Sunday, June 7, following the traditional rhythm of the calendar shortly after Trinity Sunday. The feast, instituted in 1264 by Pope Urban IV, highlights the Church’s faith in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. “Corpus Christi” is Latin for “Body of Christ,” drawing our attention to Christ truly present under the appearances of bread and wine.
Throughout history, deep devotion to Christ in the Blessed Sacrament has marked the lives of the saints; by following their example, we too can grow in love for Jesus present in the Eucharist and strengthen our friendship with him through his Body and Blood.

Totus Tuus is coming back to St. Mary! Below is a sign up to help with meals for the Totus Tuus team, volunteers, and evening program. (All housing is provided already.) A link to sign your children up is on the comments.

We are needing some help this year for Totus Tuus camp. Most of the days have 2 different time slots, so please be aware when you sign up!
