Wow an amazing insight.

3 years ago. Nov 12. Lying in an Intensive Care Unit.

The night before, the Movers were in concert when it happened - a subarachnoid hemorrhage - while on stage.

I write about my experience to remember. Because as silly as it sounds, if you don't remember ... you forget. Here's what I learned during those days in the hospital:

Compassion
Mercy
Kindness
Love
- often are quiet (but don't mistake quietness for weakness).

Our lives are busy, noisy, and distracted and consequently, those 4 words are hard to hear. More so, they get drowned out in the hurriedness, divisiveness, anger, and indifference of our world.

Admittedly, it takes more energy to listen and to live those words, and sometimes you'll stumble trying, but if you continue to do so (missteps and all) - you'll realize just how special and transformative 'living them out' can be for you and those around you. The ripple effect is POWERFUL.

We forget that until we're reminded.

So again, here I am to remember and remind and encourage you to remember and remind.
