Denville Community Church - "The Church of the Open Door" Welcome! We are an enthusiastic, inclusive Christian faith community.

Our purpose at Denville Community Church is to be an enthusiastic community of God’s love in action. Empowered by the Holy Spirit and guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ, we seek to share this love in response to human needs, hurts and hopes. In response to our global United Methodist denomination’s historical and current marginalization of people who are gay, most recently in 2019 with General Conference’s decision to withhold from them marriage and ordination rights,

We, Denville Community Church, affirm our historical identity of being an inclusive Christian community known as “The Church of the Open Door.” We covenant to welcome, value, listen and seek to understand the LGBTQ+ community & their families, so all know that they are vital to our church community. We affirm that all may experience full participation in our ministries including, but not limited to, the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion, marriage ceremonies, the ordination process, and funerals. We continue to prayerfully follow the example of Jesus Christ, ministering to all of God’s children.
