Statement from National Philoptochos:
With heavy hearts, National Philoptochos mourns the lives lost and those injured in the recent act of violence at a house of worship in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan. We extend our deepest prayers for comfort and healing to the families, the community, and all who are grieving.

Every life is precious, created in the image of God. When tragedy strikes one community, we all suffer. Violence has no place in our churches, our neighborhoods, or our world.

As we remember the departed and those who mourn their loss, we renew our steadfast commitment to peace, compassion, and respect for all humanity.

Today marks the 24th anniversary of the devastating attack on the World Trade Center. On this day, we pay tribute to the courageous first responders and innocent lives lost in the tragedy.

We also acknowledge and deeply respect the enduring hope and resilience of the communities in New York City and across the country. We express our sincere gratitude to those who devoted themselves tirelessly to the reconstruction of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine. Since its inauguration three years ago, this holy site has served as a vital source of solace and restoration for countless individuals from all corners of the globe. We urge all to come and visit this magnificent church and to offer their prayers within its walls. May we always remember.
