This past Sunday we had our annual ingathering and water communion service, with waters brought from homes and travels, and then today we placed the waters in the fountain in our memorial garden. It's going to be a great church year! If you missed the service, and the amazing music, you can watch it on our YouTube channel - link in the comments.

Have you ever thought about joining the paid staff at First Universalist? Did you know we're hiring? Three jobs are listed in this week's edition of Happenings, coming out later this afternoon, one for a few folks to join our Sunday nursery care team, one to join our AV team, mostly Sundays with some additional shifts available throughout the week, and a newly formed 30 hour/week position to join our core staff as the Community Connector.

The Community Connector works to fulfil the mission of the church by actively seeking out members and visitors and helping them integrate in the life of the church. The Community Connector will meet with congregants, whether they are new to the community or have been at First Universalist for decades, to understand the longings that drew them to the congregation. This position will support the Senior Minister, coordinating engagement in the congregation, recruiting volunteers for roles across the church, and keeping a finger on the pulse of the community.

If you're interested, or know someone who might be, check out the full job description in this link-

Yesterday we lost Dolly Parton, but as we say at every memorial service, those we love and lose are no longer where they once were, they are wherever we are. If you missed it, last year we did a whole service with her music, and her gospel of grace and forgiveness. You can find it at the link in the comments. May her life continue to be a blessing to everyone.

⚡️ Did you know our building is powered by renewable energy?

Sustainable practices in our operations reflect the values of our faith, and you can see them in action anytime you visit our church!

Shoutout to our Green First Task Force and Social Justice Council for their work on this new display in the Hospitality Center!

On this Father’s Day weekend, when some of us celebrate the men in our lives, and others of us wish we had different men than we actually had, I want to share with you a few of the lessons I learned from my own father, both the good, and the ones I’ve learned since aren’t helpful anymore, if t...

Today, the Unitarian Universalist Association calls for an end to the war in Iran in a letter to President Trump and other U.S. leaders.

The letter names this military action as a violation of our deepest commitments and warns that it threatens religious liberty. It also makes clear that this “illegal and destructive use of military force cannot be justified on the grounds of human rights,” and puts Iranian people at further risk of harm.

Grounded in a generations-long witness for religious pluralism, the UUA affirms that many people of faith oppose imperialist aims masquerading as religious commitments.

UU leaders are also inviting you to join them by adding your name to the public letter.
