St. John's Denver

St. John's Denver Walking together toward renewed hope and life in Jesus Christ. St. John's is a community that is connecting people to Jesus!

We honor God's call when, as a community, we walk alongside of you as you experience God's love and forgiveness and are reconciled to God. It is our desire that you learn to fear, love and trust in the God who made you and has great things planned for you. Living and working together in faith builds community as we experience life with other believers. Gathered around God's Word, we learn that we

are called to be a people of hope and agents of transformation in our city and world. John's Classic (8:00am) and Modern (9:45am) worship services bring God's Word alive through music, praise, forgiveness, God's Word, and prayer.

Ever sent a text that started with:

“Sorry, just seeing this.”

…when you actually saw it three days ago? 😅

Most of us have.

Why?

Because admitting we forgot feels uncomfortable.
Admitting we dropped the ball requires humility.
Admitting we’re wrong often requires asking for forgiveness.

So instead, we protect ourselves.

The problem is that self-protection can easily become dishonesty.

God calls us to something different.

Paul says these things aren’t fitting for God’s people because they aren’t who God is.

God doesn’t deceive.
God doesn’t manipulate.
God doesn’t hide behind excuses.

He is truth.

And when we belong to Him, we’re called to reflect His character in the way we speak, act, and treat others.

Not because we’re trying to earn God’s love.

Because we’ve already received it. ✝️

Before you hit send…
Before you make the comment…
Before you tell someone else…

Pause.

Words have the power to heal or hurt, build up or tear down.

The Bible reminds us that followers of Jesus are called to speak differently—not with gossip, slander, lies, or revenge, but with truth, grace, and love.

Maybe the most spiritual thing some of us can do today is slow down and ask:

“Will these words bring life?”

Save this for the next difficult conversation.

Worship is more than a song on Sunday morning.
It’s meals shared around tables.
It’s students asking hard questions.
It’s serving our city and beyond.
It’s showing up for one another.
It’s everyday people walking together toward renewed hope and life in Jesus.

This is worship.

The Apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 12 that when we're baptized with the Holy Spirit, we become vital members of Christ's body. Not optional. Not extra. VITAL. Just like every part of your physical body matters, every member of the church matters for the body to flourish.

You've been gifted by God with unique spiritual gifts: teaching, encouragement, mercy, generosity, leadership, and serving. These aren't random talents; they're your divine purpose. Your calling is clear: use your gifts to build up the body of Christ and reach others with His love.

In Christ's body, belonging leads to blessing others. You're not here by accident. You're chosen, gifted, and needed. The question isn't "Do I belong?" but "How will I use my gifts to make a difference?"
