St. John's Denver

St. John's Denver Walking together toward renewed hope and life in Jesus Christ. St. John's is a community that is connecting people to Jesus!

We honor God's call when, as a community, we walk alongside of you as you experience God's love and forgiveness and are reconciled to God. It is our desire that you learn to fear, love and trust in the God who made you and has great things planned for you. Living and working together in faith builds community as we experience life with other believers. Gathered around God's Word, we learn that we

are called to be a people of hope and agents of transformation in our city and world. John's Classic (8:00am) and Modern (9:45am) worship services bring God's Word alive through music, praise, forgiveness, God's Word, and prayer.

Worship is more than a song on Sunday morning.
It’s meals shared around tables.
It’s students asking hard questions.
It’s serving our city and beyond.
It’s showing up for one another.
It’s everyday people walking together toward renewed hope and life in Jesus.

This is worship.

The Apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 12 that when we're baptized with the Holy Spirit, we become vital members of Christ's body. Not optional. Not extra. VITAL. Just like every part of your physical body matters, every member of the church matters for the body to flourish.

You've been gifted by God with unique spiritual gifts: teaching, encouragement, mercy, generosity, leadership, and serving. These aren't random talents; they're your divine purpose. Your calling is clear: use your gifts to build up the body of Christ and reach others with His love.

In Christ's body, belonging leads to blessing others. You're not here by accident. You're chosen, gifted, and needed. The question isn't "Do I belong?" but "How will I use my gifts to make a difference?"

Do you know your spiritual gifts?

The Bible teaches that every believer has been gifted by God to build up the body of Christ through ministry and reach others through mission.

But many people never step into the calling God has for them because of 2 things:

• Inferiority: “I’m not good enough.”
• Apathy: “Other priorities replaced Jesus.”

Your gifts were never meant to stay unused. Someone else may experience encouragement, healing, truth, or connection to Jesus through the way God uniquely wired you.

Ministry builds up the body.
Mission connects others to the body.

What spiritual gift do you think God may be calling you to use more intentionally?

Who comes to mind when you think of tension, frustration, or distance in your relationships? What walls have you built between yourself and others?

This Sunday we explored Ephesians 2:11-22 and discovered a powerful truth: through Jesus Christ, human distinctions lose their power. The gospel doesn't just save us—it tears down the dividing walls of hostility between us. Jesus himself IS our peace, breaking down barriers of ethnicity, politics, age, lifestyle, and more through His blood shed on the cross.

Here's the transformative reality: when we receive vertical peace with God (shalom), we can extend horizontal peace to others. Christianity isn't about self-righteousness or pointing fingers—it's a religion of gratitude. We're sinners saved by grace, which means we can extend that same grace across every barrier.

The question for each of us: Who is one person or people group you have a wall towards right now? What does Jesus want you to do about it? His kingdom has room for every tribe, nation, and language—all clothed in Christ.

The sin isn't just out there. The sin is in here 💙

Lord, help me to live a life of gratitude rather than a life of hostility by your grace ✝️
