Being Bloom Series

To be a part of Bloom is to engage in a rhythm of life with others who are following Christ. We seek to see our values expressed in our lives as we commit to a way of being with God, among each other, and in our world.

As we value beauty, sacrament, and restoration, we seek to see these values both define our lives and find expression through our commitments to worship, prayer, shared life, hospitality, service, and generosity.

So belonging within Bloom is realized when we commit to these expressions of our values among and within this community of believers.

This Fall, we are creating space to focus on these values and commitments that form our common rhythm. Each Sunday will center on one of these values and commitments, beginning with our value of beauty, this Sunday.

Our hope is that the Spirit revitalizes our wonder of this life and reestablishes our unity with one another, our longing to see the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven.

Come to the Table.

ADVENT BEGINS TOMORROW
GATHERINGS AT 10:30am & 6pm

the lectionary Gospel that is given to us this Sunday, Jesus speaks to his followers about the ending of all things, when nothing that has been made will remain. He tells them to live in the light of this truth, to watch and to be ready.

When all has passed away, when the fabric of creation has unravelled, Christ will remain.

As Advent people, we are called to live in this reality, fully aware that at every moment the world in which we live, the systems that govern us, are being torn apart. We live with eyes open to the pain and suffering and cruelty in our world, and we say with all creation, “Come, Lord Jesus.”

In the season of Advent, the Church lays before us the poverty, the brokenness, the oppression present in our world. She holds our head so that we may not look away. In that place, we begin to move towards the darkness to be the incarnation of healing and hope, and it is in that place that we allow ourselves to feel an ancient hope in the Light of the world, the One who will remain when all else is nothing.

We’re Back to Meeting in the A.M.

School has started, summer is coming to a close, and the morning gathering is back! Our evening gatherings over the summer have been full of life and a unifying energy. Let’s continue that into the school year as we move to gather in the morning.

We invite you to come early for coffee and to catch up with friends at 10am every Sunday.

ON AUGUST 18, we will have PANCAKES AND BACON after the morning gathering, so make sure to stay for that!

We will also create space to pray for and bless students, educators, those who support them, and all who are beginning a new season in their professional life or work of service.

We’ll see you there!

THIS SUNDAY @ 5PM

It's that time of year! We're gathering together to celebrate the season with our take on the traditional service of Nine Lessons and Carols, adding some good Christmas Ale and chili, LOTS of instruments, and general merriment.

If you play an instrument, bring it with you, and you'll be in instantly accepted into the Bloom Orchestra. There will be chords up on the screens for everyone to play along. The whole family is welcome- kids can decorate cookies and sing along with everyone. We'll have plenty of Christmas Ale to go around, but if you've got a favorite seasonal ale you'd like to share, feel free to bring it.

So come one, come all;
come friends and neighbors,
to our rowdy, reverent, joy-filled Christmas tradition!

Bloom Common Space

If you are an artist/creator, you are invited to the Artist Collective at Bloom!

THEME FOR NOVEMBER: THE TENSION AROUND HOW YOUR WORK IS RECEIVED BY OTHERS

We will consider:

1. How do you hope your work functions in other peoples lives?
2. How does it feel for you when when people engage with it differently than your original hope?
3. What's your spiral/coping after feeling the sense of failure? (We know there is growth from this, that's not what we’re asking....)
