The season of Lent officially begins on Ash Wednesday which falls this year on Feb. 18. On Sunday, we are going to turn our focus toward the season of Lent. Lent is a time that is used to examine our relationship with God and strive for growth in our spiritual lives. Using 2 Chronicles 15, we are going to begin to prepare the soil for the season of Lent. The prophet Azariah put out the call to Asa, a king of Judah, to seek the Lord. Asa took those words to heart, got rid of those things that would prevent healthy spiritual growth, and took an oath, along with his entire kingdom, to seek the Lord. The call for each of us as we prepare for the season of Lent is the same. Seek the Lord!

💌 Send a Card to a Friend Day 💌

Today is a reminder of how meaningful a handwritten card can be. A note of encouragement, sympathy, or celebration can help someone feel remembered and cared for.

We’re grateful for our Care Team, who share this ministry throughout the year by sending cards to members of our church family during life’s joys and sorrows. These small acts of care are one of the ways we live out community together.

If you’d like to send a note to someone, our weekly prayer guide is a helpful place to find who might appreciate encouragement.

In a world that tells us to hurry, achieve, and get ahead…Jesus says, “Take a breath. Come and see.”
Maybe the invitation we need most this week isn’t to do more but to abide.
Epiphany reminder: seeing Jesus changes everything.

Epiphany begins with white or gold, celebrating the joy and divinity of Christ revealed to the nations. As the season continues, green marks the Sundays after Epiphany, symbolizing growth, life, and the ministry of the Church.

Our parament over the pulpit tells the story of God’s redemption: the tree of good and evil, the cross, and the tree of life. May this season inspire us to grow in faith, love, and community.

The season of Epiphany draws us to see Jesus, the one who came to this world to be the Light of the world. We welcome Pastor Craig Broek who will preach from John 1:35-42, challenging us to see Jesus for who He is. And when we take time to see Jesus for who He is, we may be surprised by what we see.

Fear is real. But so is God’s promise: He holds us and won’t let us go.
How are you letting the light of Jesus shine through your fears today?
