🖤❤️💛💚 Happy Juneteenth from Scott United Methodist Church! ✨

Today, we celebrate freedom and honor the resilience of our ancestors. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when the final group of enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas received word that they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been issued.

We remember those who endured, persevered, and believed in a brighter tomorrow. Their strength paved the way for future generations and reminds us that freedom, justice, and hope are worth pursuing together.

🕊️ Celebrate Freedom. Honor History. Inspire Futures.

May we continue to build a future worthy of the sacrifices of those who came before us. ❤️💛💚
