Archery day at Lake Barr!

Today, 5 Scouts and four parents met up at Lake Barr to learn all about archery! Ranger Michelle taught us all about safety on the range, and how to properly use a bow and arrow.
The Scouts started on regular flat targets, and moved quickly to the 3-D range!

Last week, Pack 5 met up at Lake Barr to learn all about boating! We learned about safety on a boat, piled into two-person kayaks, and explored the lake!

We saw several fish swimming beneath us, pelicans, ducks, and a pair of people bow fishing! It was a great time!

We also learned of another unofficial addition to the six essentials: BUG SPRAY!!!

Yesterday, Pack 5 met for the first of our summer activities. We met several volunteers from Colorado Parks and Wildlife at Lake Lehow, a little hidden gem run by Denver Water near Waterton Canyon, to teach us the basics of fishing!

By noon, we were wrapping up, and nearly every Scout had caught at least one fish! We made it out before the weather turned, and had a great day!
