My worthy colleagues are spent - in a good way. Delays, politics, equipment issues, successful surgeries, 02 pressure waning in OR, watching "their" ICU patients be on auto-pilot, awesome doctors-to-be and nurse-lets watching and learning....All in a days work (or two or three!) What an awesome crew we've got.

Monday non-nesessary personnel went to Russian market had lunch along the river & dinner @"Friends" - a non-profit that takes kids off the streets and trains them. Yummy. The docs went to the clinic to interview potential patients. They worked on the surgical schedule until late evening. Today (Tues) We start cases. Two thyroids. Please pray that all goes well. we're all here in one piece. All bags made it. We lost a day traveling so right now it's 9:10 am Monday. Yesterday once we dropped off luggage we toured the clinic and monk hospital. Its amazingly filthy and stinky and shabby w/o the chic. more later thanks to Mary Shea for lending laptop. will try pictures later. Peace, Judy

Tail end of Typhoon Ketsana hit Cambodia a few days ago - and Phnom Penh tonight. Unbelievable amounts of rain! 1 foot of standing water in streets within 30" of start of downpour. Welcome! Bring waders.
