"LEADERSHIP"
at TCN's Mile High Chapter meeting on
National Church Administration Day

No matter what your role is, where you work or serve, if you manage staff or volunteers, or if you work alone, you need to lead and be led. Being a good leader means knowing how to bring out the best in your staff, resolving conflict in a positive and affirming way, and motivating your staff to excel.

Matthew Fite and Matt Manning are exceptional and engaging speakers who will equip you with tools to become a better leader at The Church Network's™ Mile High Chapter meeting on Thursday morning, October 20, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cherry Hills Village.

Matthew Fite has served as the Lead Pastor of Good News Community Church in Broomfield, CO since 2007. He graduated from Bethel Theological Seminary in 2005 with a Master of Divinity degree.

Matt Manning has been Lead, Teaching and Thornton Campus Pastor with Crossroads Church since August 2007, after graduating from Southern Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree.
Matthew and Matt will address the many facets, obstacles and joys of leadership: Why is leadership important? How does one lead through conflict? How do you motivate as a leader? How do you let your leader know how best to lead you? There will be some practical advice and some time for Q & A, so invite your Pastor, Volunteer Coordinator or members of your church's Leadership Team to join you for breakfast and what promises to be a inspiring presentation!

National Church Administration Day (NCAD) is a service event offered by local chapters of The Church Network™, which provides an opportunity for the chapters to share their knowledge of accurate, current information and resources in order to assist both Ministers and Laity in congregations with the administration of their churches.

“Copyright Law” Presenters: Kyle Siegal and Nate Edwards, Lewis Roca Rothgerber

What does "fair use" mean? Have you ever wondered whether your church has appropriate permission to use someone else's recordings, artwork or musical arrangements?

Nathaniel Edwards and Kyle Siegal, attorneys with the law firm of Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP, will be addressing these concerns among others in their presentation to the Mile High Chapter on Friday morning, May 13.

So, your church is posting podcasts of your Pastor's weekend sermons on your website as a service to homebound members. Maybe your church is selling a compilation of your pastor's current sermon series on CDs. Who owns the copyright to these sermons, your pastor or your church?

By the way, is your church infringing upon the copyright law in the way it is importing graphics from the internet? How about the editorial articles borrowed from sources on the website and republished in your church's monthly newsletter...Do you need permission from the author to use them?

Mr. Edwards is a trademark, copyright and internet attorney at Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie's office in Phoenix. He advises clients on the risks of using certain copyrighted works and helps clients protect their own original works. He is very experienced in the fields of domain name and internet law. Mr. Edwards acts as outside trademark and copyright counsel to a large Christian educational company based in Colorado.

Mr. Siegal is an intellectual property attorney who, as a registered patent attorney, is passionate about protecting innovation in technology , art and design. He helps clients identify, secure, and enforce all types of intellectual property rights, including those rooted in patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and rights of publicity. Mr. Siegal serves as outside intellectual property counsel to a Phoenix-based church.
