Still Going (Same Journey)
I think everybody likes a vacation every now and then. A day of rest, renewed strength, not being distracted by the demands of our lives but able to meditate on the things most important to us we now overlook. A chance to catch up with family, to experience them outside of there own distractions, to get to know them better, to find true intimacy, discovering moments of pure joy and even celebrating with each other, life.
Traveling is questionable. If were isolating on our journey it could seem much of the same part of everyday life and not a part of the vacation. We may get wrong directions, make wrong turns, have to many undesired stops, or stops that last for too long and seem more of a burden than anything. Regardless, it's still apart of the journey. Our walk with Jesus is the same. We may make mistakes or get stagnant in our walk . Regardless, it's still apart of the journey. The bible suggests we're sojourners, travelers, on the way home. We will be in Heaven with our Heavenly Father, our King, our Friend and we will be able to rest in His presence, celebrating with each other who He is and able to meditate and focus on this truth for eternity, no longer distracted.
May you find rest in Him today knowing that even if you have to turn around, make corrections, or start going after being stopped for too long you don't have to start over. That this is the same journey and you just have to keep going. Today may you find rest in His presence and a renewed strength as you celebrate who He is in your life knowing, while the journey may not feel like the day a rest you're looking for, it is still a part of the vacation.
