We're still in the Hebrew month of , which according to Jewish tradition is the month that "joy increases."
There's a lot to be concerned about in the world now, so receiving and acknowledging is more necessary, and is, as implies, an act of resistance.
According to our tradition this month is a time of transforming from danger and dismay to joy and liberation, so feeling joy is also a act.
Whether joy is dissolving into the or looking at that bigger-than-ourselves from our individual ego (not the "bad" ego that gets a bad rap among new age circles), sometimes joy is wholly present in the small, regular things, like for me, this loving cottonwood. Sometimes, wholly unexpected.
As Mary says,
"If you suddenly and unexpectedly feel joy,
don't hesitate. Given in to it.....It could be anything,
but very likely you notice it in the instant
when love begins. Anyway, that’s often the
case. Anyway, whatever it is, don’t be afraid
of its plenty. Joy is not made to be a crumb."
Let the little joys grow into greater ones. After all, they're not meant to be crumbs.
