Mom & Dad moved away from one family, the Church and everyone there, to be closer to their grandsons and myself here in Kansas.
They don’t let on but I know this has been quite the adjustment for them.
They went from a town very familiar where everyone knew them to a place where they are just another face in the crowd. I can’t imagine how drastic of a change it has been for them, but I’m so happy they are here.
They have been attending the local Assembly of God Church. I believe they were there for nearly two months before dad divulged to them he was a recently retired Pastor.
I get to see them almost every Sunday. We typically have lunch and maybe watch the Chiefs if they are the early afternoon game. I never realized how much I missed doing that in my 30 years I had been moved out of the house and away where it wasn’t possible.
They are doing good, life is going at a snails pace now. Being up here has probably affected mom most as she was more of the social butterfly. Now she doesn’t have those interactions as she did back in Denver City.
I can’t thank y’all and everyone who has went through those church doors in Denver City how much I appreciate you taking care of them all these years.
Maclain, my youngest, had his 1st birthday recently so we had a photographer come and take pictures. I made sure the photographer took a few of mom and dad too. As you can see, this is what they moved up here for and I’m so thankful to the people at the church making this happen .
