Southmont Baptist Church began in January, 1979, as a cooperative effort of the First Baptist Church of Denton, the Denton Baptist Association, and the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Since that small beginning Southmont has grown to meeting in a beautiful church plant that exceeds 65,000 square feet. We have facilities specifically constructed for preschoolers, children, youth, and adults. O

ur staff oversees ministries directed toward every age-group and a variety of needs. Our Vision is to be a community of grace empowered by the Holy Spirit where people feel safe, valued, accepted and challenged to serve Christ, study His Word, show His Love and share the Gospel with all people.
