This Sunday: Acts 1
The Acts of the Holy Spirit – Part 1:
You Shall be Baptized

From the very start in Acts chapter 1 the disciples seem to have everything they need to be effective evangelists. They were trained directly by Jesus for three and a half years. They saw Him do all His miracles and even did some themselves. They saw Him rise from the dead and were taught by Him for forty days after that, and they even saw Him ascend bodily into heaven. What better preparation could anyone have than what they received up to that point, in order to become fearless, biblically accurate and effective evangelists?

And yet Jesus knew something was still lacking: In order for them to truly be effective as evangelists they needed power. So do we.

This Sunday: Matthew 26:17-30
The Cross – Part 2: Drinking of His Mercy

Is there any weakness failure or sin too big for the blood of Jesus to remove it?

Under the law when people sinned against God they had to bring a sacrifice to pay for their sins.

But now because of the cross of Jesus the payment for sins is finished. No sacrifice is needed anymore. Instead God has offered us the cup of mercy in the blood of His Son Jesus, and invited us to drink freely of His mercy.
