DCC Service - 06/12/2022 - Genesis 2:4-9
Grace and peace to you this amazingly warm Sunday morning! This morning the saints of Denton Community Church gathered together to worship the Lord through song, prayer, fellowship, and the study of thee Bible. Today, we spent time in Genesis 2:4-9 where the creation account is retold with emphasis on the creation of mankind. God created with intentionality - forming man with both physical (from the dust) and spiritual (God breathing life) aspects to bring him to life. May you be encouraged and comforted as you walk through days of ease and days of struggle, knowing that our God is sovereign and is fulfilling His good plan in and through each of us.

DCC Service - 06/05/2022 - Genesis 2:1-3
Grace and peace to you this sunny Sunday morning! The saints of Denton Community Church gathered again this morning for worship of the Lord through song, prayer, fellowship, and the study of His word. The focal text this morning was Genesis 2:1-3. After six days of creation, God declares the work very good, and ceases the work of creation. By doing so, He establishes a day of celebration which is to be full of peace, blessing, and holiness. Every time we take a weekly day of rest and worship, it is both an act of faith that God will provide our needs and an act of gratitude toward God for all he has created and provided. May your days be absent of anxiety and full of peace as we see the wonder of creation and the sovereign, loving God who brought it into existence.

DCC Service - 05/29/2022 - Genesis 1, Christ in Genesis - Communion
Grace and peace to you this lovely Sunday morning! This morning, the saints of Denton Community Church together for worship of the Lord through song, prayer, fellowship, and the study of His word. In addition to celebrating Communion (as we do on the last Sunday of every month), the focus of today’s study was on the connection and fulfillment of Christ reaching all the way back to Genesis 1. The correlations we explored are primarily in the first few verses of John 1, Colossians 1, and Hebrews 1. May you be blessed and comforted by the Sovereignty of our Lord Jesus Christ - fully God and fully man who came to save us!

DCC Service - 05/22/2022 - Genesis 1:3-31

Grace and peace to you on this surprisingly cool Sunday morning! The saints of Denton Community Church gathered once again for worship of the Lord through song, prayer, fellowship, and the study of His word. This morning, we continued at the beginning - Genesis - with a brisk trip through the days of creation and the significance of each as God brought forth form and fullness out of chaos and void. We took a good look at day six and the creation of mankind in God’s image… a fact that brings clear dignity and value to every human being. God was purposeful and intentional in His work of creation - and He was purposeful and intentional as He created you as well (Psalm 8:3-4)! May you be blessed, encouraged, and challenged to resist even the slightest temptation to devalue any other person of their image bearing!

DCC Service - 05/15/2022 - Genesis 1:1-2
Grace and peace to you on this lovely Sunday morning! The saints of Denton Community Church came together to worship God through song, prayer, fellowship, and the study of His word. Today our study took us all the way back at the very beginning with Genesis 1:1-2! These first two verses were essential to the Hebrews coming out of Egypt in understanding foundational things about the character and nature of God, as well as their origin - especially in contrast to the common cultural teachings they had been immersed in for the past 430 years in Egypt! May the truth of God’s word also bring comfort and confidence to you as we explore the ramifications of these first two verses of the Bible.

DCC Service - 05/08/2022 - 2 Timothy 2:22-26 - Mother’s Day

Grace and peace to you on beautiful Mother’s Day Sunday! As always, Denton Community Church gathered this morning to worship our Lord and Savior through song, prayer, fellowship, and the study of God’s word. This morning, in light of it being Mother’s Day, we took a journey through the Scriptures and to see God’s plan for motherhood originating at the very beginning, various examples of faithful motherhood through difficult times (being a mom is HARD), and finally some principles to cling to! May you be encouraged, but also may you know that you are not alone in the struggle to raise godly children!

DCC Service - 05/01/2022 - Deuteronomy 7:6-11
Grace and peace to you on beautiful spring Sunday! This morning, the saints of Denton Community Church gathered to worship the Lord through song, prayer, fellowship, and the study of the Bible. The focus text was Deuteronomy 7:6-11. As the Hebrews were recently delivered from 430 years of enslavement in Egypt, they would be needing some questions answered about their identity, including: Who are we? Why did God choose us? Who is this God? and What is God like? God graciously answers the Hebrews and then later answers similarly to the church in 1 Peter 2:9-12. DCC Service - 04/17/2022 - Psalm 118 - Easter

Grace and peace to you on Easter Sunday ! He is risen! He is risen, indeed! This morning, the saints of Denton Community Church came together to celebrate the Lord’s goodness and His steadfast love through song, prayer, fellowship, and the study of the Bible. Psalm 118 was the focus of study. God is good and His steadfast love endures forever - even through battles and struggles! He will see us through and will answer when we cry to Him! Therefore, we will respond with worship and praise, but also in extolling His greatness to others by sharing what the Lord has done for us! Praise His Holy name!

Today’s text of focus was Psalm 126, a Psalm of Ascent. May the Lord increase your faith as you trust Him in all situations and has He uses all situations - even struggle - to prepare us for the eternal weight of glory that awaits us.

The focal text today was Psalm 116. When we are in distress and danger beyond our ability to handle - cry out to God! And when He answers and delivers, be sure to give Him glory! May you be comforted by God’s love and confident in His keeping of you in all circumstances and situations!

DCC Service - 03/27/2022 - Psalm 16 - Communion
Grace and peace to you on this beautiful Sunday! The saints of Denton Community Church gathered for worship through song, prayer, fellowship, and the study of the Bible at The Downtowner this morning. In addition to Communion, where we focused on the godly characteristic of patience, our main message focused on Psalm 16. May the Lord encourage us as we take refuge in His presence in the midst of a divided world and as we face the temptation to hastily run to other gods/idols in search of our desires. Above these, may God keep us near to His heart and increase our faith in Him!
