The Board of Ordained Ministry voted to recommend Pastor Jenny for ordination this summer! This marks a significant milestone in Jenny’s ministry and is the culmination of years of school, interviews, and supervised ministry practice. Jenny will go before the entire session of clergy from our conference before the ordination service in June in Wichita Falls. We are so thrilled to celebrate our gifted and graced Associate Director’s hard work toward this process! ✨

In our Lent devotional by Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis, Rev. Dr. Theoharis talks about fasting through a biblical and historical lens. She talks about how activists like Martin Luther King Jr called on Americans to understand what exploitation of resources was doing to poor and oppressed Americans.

Fasting has a long tradition in activist culture and work. Today, look up the activists included in our post and learn more about their work to care for our world.

Think about what justice means to you, and how you can stand in solidarity with the people in your community who may need your and God's love.

You can read Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis' devotional in "The Tomb is Empty but the Streets are Full" from Unbound here: https://justiceunbound.org/ash-wednesday-2/
