We would LOVE to have our community come out and cheer on our amazing prom goers as they make their grand entrance! 🥹❤️ Whether they’re dressed in their favorite era, rocking a fancy outfit, or simply coming as themselves, we want each person to feel celebrated, valued, and loved!

📣 IMPORTANT FOR WALK-IN SPECTATORS: Please arrive between 5:30 and 5:45 PM so you don’t miss the grand entrance! The walk-in is a special part of the evening, and we would love for you to be there to help us make it memorable! 👏🎶

From the music and fun to the fellowship and smiles, this night is all about celebrating individuals with disabilities ages 16 and up and reminding every person that they have meaning, they have value, and they are loved! ❤️

What a blessing it was today to be part of the Challenger Baseball and Empowering Friends Trunk or Treat! 🧡🎃

HISability loved seeing so many familiar faces and meeting so many new people! We were also blessed to make connections with individuals interested in joining HISability, and one especially kind volunteer who was helping park cars even took the time to pray for us and our ministry. 🙏❤️

Moments like these remind us that God is working in ways both big and small. We are so thankful for the opportunities He gives us to connect with others, share His love, and continue growing this ministry.

God is so good, and we are so grateful! ✨🙌

🎃🧡 HISability had a wonderful time being part of the TuscBDD Trunk or Treat! We saw so many fun costumes, met lots of fun people, and even got to see several familiar faces! It was such a joy to connect with our community and share in the fun. Thank you, TuscBDD, for having us and giving us the opportunity to be part of such a great event! 🧡🍬

We have had a lot of questions about what HISability is recently with our upcoming prom. Please take a few minutes to review this information! We would love to have more volunteers and participants join us at our upcoming events too!

💙 What Is HISability Ministry?
HISability Ministry is a ministry of Roxford Church created for individuals with disabilities ages 16 and up. Our heart is to create a place where everyone feels welcomed, valued, accepted, and encouraged to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Our name, HISability, reflects our desire to focus on His ability—not our limitations. We believe that every person has meaning, purpose, and value, and we want to provide an environment where individuals can learn about God, build friendships, have fun, and use the abilities God has given them.

❤️ Who Is HISability For?
HISability is for individuals with disabilities ages 16 and up. Whether someone has attended church their entire life, has never been to church, or has another church they attend, they are welcome here!
We recognize that every individual is different, so we strive to meet people where they are and accommodate their individual needs whenever possible.

🗓️ What Are Our Meetings Like?
We typically meet twice a month on Friday evenings from 6:30–8:00 PM.
Our monthly structure is generally:
📖 First Meeting — Full Lesson Night
The first meeting of the month focuses on a full, Bible-based lesson using Ability Ministry curriculum. Lessons are adapted and presented in ways that are accessible and engaging for our participants.
🎉 Second Meeting — Mini Lesson & Fellowship
Our second gathering usually begins with a shorter mini lesson that connects with our faith and what we've been learning. Then we spend time together through a fun fellowship activity.
Activities may include things like:

• 🎲 Board games and trivia
• 🎤 Talent shows or karaoke
• 🍦 Ice cream and outdoor games
• 💦 Water activities
• 🎳 Bowling
• 🎄 Holiday celebrations
• 🎨 Crafts
• 🎉 Special events and parties

• And lots of opportunities for conversation, friendship, and fun!

📖 What Do We Learn?
We use Ability Ministry Bible-based curriculum as a foundation for our lessons. Our goal isn't simply to teach Bible stories, but to help participants understand how God's Word applies to their own lives.
We want individuals to know that they are loved by God, that they have purpose, and that they can have a meaningful relationship with Jesus.
🍿 We Have Snacks Too!
Of course, no HISability gathering would be complete without snacks! 😄
We provide snacks and do our best to accommodate individual dietary needs and allergies when we are made aware of them.
🎧 We Want Everyone to Feel Comfortable
We understand that church environments can sometimes be overwhelming. That's why we work to create a positive, encouraging, and welcoming environment.
We have noise-canceling headphones available for individuals who may benefit from them, and we do our best to be flexible with individual needs.
Our philosophy is simple:
Assume competence. Encourage independence. Celebrate abilities. Show grace.
👨‍👩‍👧 Parents & Caregivers Are Welcome!
Parents and caregivers have options.
You are welcome to stay and participate with your loved one, or, if your participant is comfortable attending independently, you may drop them off and return at the end of the evening.
We want families to feel comfortable with whatever works best for their individual situation.
We are also exploring the possibility of restarting a caregiver Bible study/support time if there is enough interest.
❤️ Who Leads HISability?
HISability is supported by background-checked volunteers from Roxford Church who have a heart for serving individuals with disabilities.
Our goal is to provide a safe, respectful, encouraging environment where participants can be themselves, build relationships, learn about Jesus, and have a whole lot of fun along the way!

At HISability, we want every person who walks through our doors to know:
You are welcome.
You are valued.
You have meaning.
You have purpose.
You are wonderfully made.
And God has a plan for you.
We aren't focused on what someone can't do.
We're focusing on HIS ability. 💙

🎣🐟🪙 WHAT AN INCREDIBLE NIGHT AT HISABILITY! 🪙🐟🎣

Tonight we learned about the miracle of the coin in the fish from Matthew 17:24-27… and then we went fishing and FOUND COINS IN THE FISH! 😱🙌

WHAT?! Talk about a fun way to bring the Bible lesson to life! 🎣🐟🪙 God sure knows how to make a lesson memorable!

There was SO much laughter, excitement, fishing, fellowship, and fun tonight! ❤️ We love watching everyone learn, participate, encourage each other, and enjoy being together.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our amazing volunteers who gave their time and energy tonight! 👏❤️ And thank you to everyone who came and made the evening so much fun!
