A common misconception about Celebrate Recovery is that it’s all about drug and alcohol addiction, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. A large part of our community is in recovery for mental health related issues. May is and today is .

Mental health awareness matters, but healing begins when we take action.

So many people are silently carrying anxiety, addiction, depression, anger, grief, shame, relationship struggles, or hurts from the past and pretending they’re fine.

Celebrate Recovery is a place where you don’t have to hide anymore.

Awareness notices the wound. Recovery takes steps toward healing.

This Friday night at Celebrate Recovery, we invite you to take that step:
• Come hear hope-filled testimonies
• Find community without judgment
• Learn practical and spiritual tools for healing
• Discover that you are not alone

You don’t have to have it all together to walk through the doors. You just have to be willing to show up.

Join us Friday night 6:00-9:00 PM.
Childcare is available.

Your recovery matters. Your mental health matters. Your story matters. ❤️

Tonight we’ll talk about the importance of taking a spiritual inventory: honestly looking at our hurts, habits, hang-ups, fears, resentments, and patterns so God can begin healing what we’ve tried to bury. You can’t heal what you won’t reveal.

Step 4 and Principle 4 challenge us to get open and honest—not to live in shame, but to finally live free.

“Let us examine our ways and test them…” — Lamentations 3:40

If you’re tired of carrying boxes full of pain, blame, guilt, anger, or regret… come as you are. You don’t have to have it all together to start recovery.

There is freedom on the other side of honesty. ❤️

Dinner will be served at 6:00.
Childcare is available.

“I’m living proof things do get better…”

Seven words of hope—and this Friday, you’ll get to hear a powerful story of broken chains from Blaine.

Broken chains aren’t about a perfect life—they’re about a free one.

In Celebrate Recovery, “broken chains” is the moment something that once controlled you doesn’t anymore. The addiction, the fear, the shame, the patterns—you’re no longer living bound to them.

That doesn’t mean the journey is over. It means the power has shifted.

Through Jesus, healing happens. Through community, strength grows. And through daily surrender, freedom becomes a way of life.

What once held you captive doesn’t get the final say.

What if one story could change the way you see your own?

This Friday at Celebrate Recovery, come hear a real testimony of struggle, surrender, and transformation from one of our leaders, Danny.

This is a safe place to be real, raw, and transparent. No pretending. No perfect people. Just honest healing and hope that’s possible for anyone.

If you’ve ever felt stuck, alone, or unsure if things can really change—this is for you. Your story isn’t over and God is not finished with you yet. Come be reminded of that.

Join us this Friday night from 6-9 PM. Pizza will be served and childcare is available.

I felt this in my soul… because this was me.

I wanted change—but I didn’t want the discomfort that comes with it. I wanted peace without surrender. Healing without letting go. Freedom without doing the hard work.

But real recovery requires choosing different… even when it’s uncomfortable.

That’s exactly what we do at Celebrate Recovery. We stop running, we face the truth, and we let God transform us from the inside out.

If you’re tired of being stuck in the same cycle, you don’t have to do it alone. There is a better way—and it starts with one step.

✝️ Good Friday ✝️

Today we pause to remember the incredible sacrifice Jesus made for us—the love that chose the cross so we could have life, freedom, and healing. ❤️‍🩹

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed.”
— Isaiah 53:5 AMP

Because of Him, our stories don’t end in brokenness… they lead to restoration. 🙌

If you’re looking for hope, healing, and a place to belong, we would love for you to join us tonight at Joshua’s Crossing Celebrate Recovery from 6:00–9:00 PM.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to take the next step… you just have to be willing.

Join us this Friday for Celebrate Recovery as we walk through Lesson 6: ACTION.

This week, we’ll focus on what it really means to:
✨ Accept Jesus as our Higher Power and Savior
✨ Commit to seek and follow His will
✨ Turn our lives and our will over to His care

Principle 3 and Step 3 are where faith becomes action. It’s the moment we stop trying to control everything ourselves and begin trusting God with everything—our past, our present, and our future.

If you missed any previous lessons, that’s okay—it’s never too late to start your journey. There is a place for you here.

Who or what do you turn to when you’re hurting, exhausted, angry, or overwhelmed?

What’s the one thing you run to… that ends up pulling you away from everything else?

Sometimes the very things we turn to for comfort can quietly become idols in our lives—causing harm to ourselves and our relationships.

But there’s a better way.

In Step 3, we make the choice to turn our lives and our wills over to the care of God. That’s where true peace, healing, and freedom begin.

Join us tonight at Joshua’s Crossing Celebrate Recovery as we dive into Lesson 5: TURN.

You can still make a beautiful life for yourself—even if you’ve lost many years to addiction, abuse, trauma, or mental illness. It is never too late to begin your journey on the road to recovery.

“Insanity is doing the same things over and over again, expecting different results.”

Sanity is the willingness to change when something isn’t working.

In recovery language, sanity means seeing reality clearly and living in alignment with truth instead of destructive patterns.

Before recovery, many people experience a kind of spiritual and emotional insanity, which can look like:
• Repeating destructive behaviors despite consequences
• Believing the same coping methods will finally work this time
• Trying to control things that are uncontrollable
• Looking to substances, people, or habits to fill needs only God can meet

Sanity begins when we stop trusting broken patterns and start trusting God instead.

Sanity is when your thinking begins to line up with God’s truth instead of your old coping patterns.

If you’re looking for a safe place to learn and practice a new way of living, we’d love for you to join us at Celebrate Recovery.

Our next men’s 12-Step Study through Celebrate Recovery starts tomorrow! 🙌

📍 Park Ave Church of Christ
3000 S Park Ave, Denison
🗓 Sunday 2/22
⏰ 3:00–5:00 PM

If you’ve been thinking about taking the next step in your recovery, this is your invitation.

A Celebrate Recovery 12-Step Study is a small, confidential group of men who walk step-by-step through biblical principles of healing. It’s more than a meeting — it’s a journey. Together, we work through our hurts, habits, and hang-ups in a safe space where honesty, accountability, and grace lead to real life change.

Why do people need this?

Because spiritual healing doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when we:
• Get honest about our struggles
• Allow God to heal the roots — not just the symptoms
• Learn to forgive and be forgiven
• Build accountability with other men
• Grow in freedom, humility, and Christ-centered character

So many men carry silent burdens — anger, control, shame, addiction, pride, fear, resentment, broken relationships. You don’t have to carry it alone. Healing begins when we step into the light.

If you’re ready to grow deeper in your faith and experience true spiritual transformation, join us tomorrow. It’s never too late to begin again.

Message us if you have questions — and feel free to share this with someone who needs it.
