An exciting day going to visit the Tolupan tribe. They are a group of people who for many years were segregated and protected as a tribal Honduran people until about 10 years ago when the government decided to open access to their villages. They chose Final Frontiers as the first group to go with humanitarian aid. They now have several churches amongst their people. To even get to them is about a 2 1/2 hour drive in the mountainous countryside. A very shy, tribal people group whose primary livelihood is selling baskets and trinkets they are able to hand make with their crude materials. The hardest part is choosing which ones to buy from...your heart just wants to buy from each lady. Then we had adventures as the van had a bit of trouble on one of the water crossings. From towing the van to stopping to get an oil change-- its always an adventure on a missions trip. A tiring day, but one filled with many memories!

A heart-moving day. We began with over an hour and a half drive to Tegucigalpa for church...in the "city". Bro. Carlos was Mrs. Nelms own pastor before she met Bro. Nelms.
Pastor got to preach to these sweet people in the morning service.
After lunch we headed to the City hospital to pass out hygiene bags. A simple bag filled with toilet paper, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. These are things that they are not given at the hospital during their stay. Imagine being in an accident and having to recover in these conditions- it was easily over 85° with no air condition, and this is the "cool season".
We got to use this opportunity to share Jesus and pray with these hurting people through the Pastor Carlos and his daughter MaryAnn, along with Bro. Ryan of Final Frontiers as interpreters. Just giving a smile and squeeze of the hand to a child in a bed or a mommy with their sick baby- that transcends all language barrier!
One young man about 18 yrs old has been in the hospital for a year due to infection in an injury after a motorcycle accident. He's being told they don't have anything else they can do for him here- only he has no options financially to go anywhere else.
Much heaviness and sadness, but many opportunities to show the love of Jesus.
Our evenings are usually spent visiting in the portico, rocking and laughing and talking. Jude keeps finding the Honduran creatures to keep company 😅.
Pray for us tomorrow as we go to the Tolupan tribe tomorrow ❤️.

Wonderful Saturday getting to go do some shopping in Valle de Angeles, then headed to do some soulwinning in Suyapa before the evening service where Bro. Nathan got to preach. We had a great service (after chasing the bats and lizzards out of the building). Met a man who "thinks" he's 86 (very old for the Honduran people) who was one of the first people to come to this church. Bro. Nelms said that though this man couldn't read, he could quote chapters of the Bible at a time. Also, was fun to do a retake of Andrew and a little boy who attached himself to Andrew on our last trip in 2023. ☺️ It's so amazing how your heart can knit to a people you can't even speak the same language with.

We got to load the truck yesterday for today's schools. Taught Bible lessons, passed out food bags, and met some sweet people this morning.
