Clergy are invited to spend a day away on Thursday, January 22, at the Ignatius House. This retreat center in Sandy Springs has been reserved for exclusive use by our clergy on January 22 from 8 am to 3:30 pm.

This Clergy Day Away is intentionally unstructured so that clergy may use the day as needed: for sermon writing, worship planning, reading, contemplation, prayer, and more. Fellowship time is scheduled during a nutritious lunch provided onsite.

Cross post with Rev Joyce Acree: Today is All Saints Sunday. When our church gathered, we always called out the names of those who transitioned to the other side in the last year, as well as those saints who left years before but continue to influence our lives in the present. Our church no longer gathers; however, this Sunday we remember three people who meant so much to our congregation through the years: Todd Rock, Mary Rohletter, and Van Wunderlich. May they rest in peace and may the memories of them make us all strive harder to be our best selves.

As an aside, it was also the custom in our congregation to recognize the faithful four-legged companions that crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Debbie Satterfield lost her beloved Tennessee Walking Horse Sally. Run free, Sally!

This week is Period Poverty Awareness Week! Did you know that two in five people struggle to purchase period supplies due to a lack of income? This is called period poverty, and chances are we each know someone who has experienced this need – a neighbor, a co-worker, or a friend. To help raise awareness and give back to our female clients who may experience this type of poverty, we are hosting a supply drive for feminine hygiene supplies! All donated items can be brought to both of our thrift stores -Clarkesville & Cornelia, and our admin office during open hours! Please see below the addresses, times, and days we are available to receive donations this week! If you aren't local to COH, but have other organizations, schools, or businesses that could use feminine hygiene products, we encourage you to donate!
