Tonight’s families from dinner at the Hill are now all safe and out of the rain! Thank you.

John and his 5 year old are at a bus stop in Phoenix right now.

After being evicted 2 weeks ago, John and his kiddo have been unable to find available shelter.

For tonight’s room, John’s family is in need of $60.

Jacinda and her 6 kids are also crowded at a bus stop right now, in need of $70 to check back in a nearby room safe.

We also have a new family tonight — Nakeesha and her 3, 9 and 11 year old kids, who have been sleeping in their vehicle night to night since their lease wasn’t renewed.

Nakeesha has $40 towards her family’s room tonight and is currently short $32 to check back in a room safe.

Any crisis support possible for tonight’s remaining families is greatly appreciated!!!

Our goal here with this particular project is to keep families safe night to night as we push for shelter capacities to be expanded.

If this daily advocacy for families isn’t something you feel compelled to support, that’s fine, but please consider using your voice to help advocate for change at the State level!

There are over 200 Arizonan families right now living in unstable conditions with their kids, who need shelter but haven’t been able to find placement because the waitlist for shelter through the Family Housing Hub is 3+ months long.

Would you not agree that’s a crisis that must be acknowledged and addressed, made especially urgent by the dangers of the extreme heat?
