The Pumpkins will be here on Saturday, September 26th this year! Please make plans to join us that day to help with unloading and then also please consider working a Pumpkin Patch shift or two during the month that follows.

Algunas iglesias enseñan que si una persona sigue a Dios, Él responde otorgándole prosperidad y paz, como es de esperar. Hoy vemos que esto es un disparate. La Biblia explica que si formamos parte de la Iglesia de Dios, tendremos que cargar con nuestras cruces. Los creyentes sufren en este mundo, a veces simplemente por ser creyentes.

¿Por qué sufrir? Llevamos nuestras cruces en gratitud a Jesús por haber cargado con la suya, una cruz demasiado pesada para nosotros porque estaba cargada con nuestro pecado. Llevamos nuestras cruces porque sabemos que en esos momentos de lucha, nos vemos obligados a acudir a Cristo y confiar en su fortaleza. Este es el camino inesperado, el que Jesús mismo recorrió: la cruz precede a la corona.

Únase a nosotros para el culto este domingo 6 de septiembre a las 10:30 a. m., donde nuestro tema del día será: «Verdades inesperadas: La cruz precede a la corona».

Some churches teach that if a person follows God, God responds by granting prosperity and peace, as would only be expected. Today we see how that is nonsense. The Bible explains that if we are part of the Church of God, we will have to bear crosses. Believers suffer in this world, sometimes just because they are believers.

Why bother? We carry our crosses in gratitude for Jesus carrying his cross, one too heavy for us because it was weighted down with our sin. We carry our crosses because we know that in those moments of struggle, we are forced to turn to Christ and rely on his strength. This is the unexpected path, the one Jesus himself walked: the cross comes before the crown.

Join us for worship this Sunday, September 6th, at 10:30 AM, when our theme of the day will be, “Unexpected Truths: Cross Comes Before Crown.”
