Philippi Christian Church was founded in 1871 and served the local community of watermen, boat builders, local business folks, and farmers for almost a hundred years, at which point many new people began to move into Middlesex County in pursuit of vacation and retirement pastimes. Philippi has welcomed this growing new community with warmth and love while at the same time preserving the great traditions of the Christian Church.

Our Disciples Women group has actively supported the Avalon Center for victims of domestic violence for several a years. This past Tuesday, members Karen Howard and Lil Fahenstock turned over a truckload of hygiene and cleaning supplies. The body of Christ in action!

Any female disciple of Jesus Christ is welcome to join this Spirit-filled community of women. They meet the second Friday of each month at 10 am!

Our hearts are saddened by the loss to our community of Bill Bagby, faithful Christian and servant to our county. Please pray for the Bagby family and friends. There will be viewing at the Vincent Funeral Home in West Point this Friday, August 29, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday at St. Clare Walker at 1:00 p.m.
