We’re starting a new sermon series in September and we’d love for you to join us!
We’re going to spend five weeks walking through the book of James and talking about Practical Faith for Real Life.
James is pretty straightforward. Following Jesus isn’t just about what we say we believe. Our faith should make a difference in how we handle hard things, how we treat people, the words we use, how we deal with comparison and conflict, and what we do when we’re tired of waiting.
Here’s where we’re headed:
*Sept 6 — James 1
Pressure Tests: Do I Even Have Faith?
What happens to our faith when life gets hard? Sometimes pressure has a way of showing us what’s really there—and God can use those hard seasons to grow something in us.
*Sept 13 — James 2
Walking the Walk: Talk Is Cheap When It Comes to Following Jesus
It’s easy to say we have faith. James challenges us to actually live like it.
*Sept 20 — James 3
Taming the Tongue: Small Muscle, Big Problems
We’ve probably all said something we wish we could take back. 😬 James has a LOT to say about our words and why what comes out of our mouths matters.
*Sept 27 — James 4
Drop the Drama: Quitting the Comparison Game and Humbling Yourself
Comparison. Jealousy. Pride. Conflict. Yep, James goes there. We’ll talk about where some of the drama in our lives really comes from and what humility looks like instead.
*Oct 4 — James 5
The Long Game: Patience, Power and Prayer When Things Get Heavy
What do you do when you’ve prayed, you’ve waited, you’ve tried to stay faithful…and things are still hard? James finishes by reminding us to keep going and keep praying.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before you walk through the doors. Whether you’ve been following Jesus for years, you’re just starting to ask questions, or you simply need somewhere to be this Sunday, you’re welcome here.
