Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church is hosting a Christmas cookie/finger food parish get together following the December 8th 5:30 pm Mass. Saint Nicholas (whose feast day is December 6th) will make his appearance bringing treats and Christmas gifts for the children. While the children entertain themselves, delving into their Christmas goodies the fun begins for the adults with a Chinese/white elephant auction. Any adult wishing to participate is asked to bring a wrapped gift with a $25 limit. Wrap it in a brown paper bag, roll it up in a newspaper, use Christmas wrapping, just make sure no one knows what it is! See who ends up with what! P.S. December 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation. So come to Mass then stay for the goodies, laughter, and fun.

Newly installed Bishop Steven Maekawa, O.P. made his first visit to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church parish last weekend. Aside from offering up Mass both days, the Bishop blessed the church bell and took the opportunity to meet with parishioners. We hope the Bishop enjoyed his visit as much as the Parish enjoyed meeting him.

The Diocese welcome Fr. Peter Bang from South Korea. Fr. Peter will be assisting in the Fairbanks area for at least six months before transitioning to a parish.

With the arrival of Fr. Peter, we now have 23 priests in active ministry serving in the Diocese of Fairbanks. Please keep all our priests in your prayers and continue to pray for vocations for the Diocese of Fairbanks.
