This course identifies basic, metaphysical tools for living. Students will be encouraged to investigate, analyze and use these tools to cultivate dominion over the ego/personality and to express more of their innate Divine Potential. We use these tools to change our thoughts, feelings and beliefs in order to elevate our consciousness so that we can be heart-centered metaphysicians.

James Dillet Freeman was a minister, poet, and the longtime director of Silent Unity, helping shape how we understand prayer as a powerful, living presence of protection, peace, and connection.

His words didn’t just stay within church walls… they reached the stars. ✨

The “Prayer for Protection” is one of two Freeman poems carried to the moon by Apollo astronauts. In 1969, Buzz Aldrin carried a copy with him on the first manned moon landing. In 1971, a microfilm copy of Freeman’s poem, “I Am There,” was left on the moon by James B. Irwin.

What a beautiful reminder: prayer isn’t limited by distance. It transcends space, time, and circumstance, carrying intention, love, and divine presence farther than we can even imagine. 🌙💫

While so much attention is on the moon and the Artemis II mission, when you look to the moon remember you are protected by God.

In this time of violence and chaos, we feel a deep call to return to peace; not as something distant or ideal, but as something we each choose every day.

Let us collectively focus our intentions, prayers, and energies toward peace. Let us pray for our world and community leaders that they are guided by wisdom, compassion, and a deep commitment to the well-being of all people.

Peace is not passive. It asks something of each of us. It calls us to be steady, to be brave, and to keep showing up with open hearts even when it feels like our efforts won’t make a difference.

We have a responsibility to be vessels of peace each day.
Peace in our hearts.
Peace in our homes.
Peace across communities and nations.

Unity calls on each of us individually, within our spiritual communities, and among our political leaders to be grounded and guided by actions that cultivate peace in our thoughts, words, and deeds.

May we be courageous in our peace. May we live it, speak it, and extend it one moment at a time.

Affirmative meditative prayer is at the heart of the Unity spiritual path. The Unity way of prayer is ultimately aimed at experience of the Divine and Realization of the practitioner’s Divine Potential. Along the way there are practical benefits, including guidance, healing and abundance. In this course, students are introduced to Unity’s Five Step Prayer Process, praying with others, and are supported in developing their daily prayer practice.
