The Delmar United Methodist Church began as a new charge in 1872, with the current building being built in 1906. In 1927, the church was a Community Church and changed its name to Delmar United Methodist Church in 1968 as the Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethan Church joined.

We had a wonderful joint worship service this morning with Maquoketa 1st UMC and Preston with Delmar hosting. We celebrated Earth Day and blessed the seeds. We also had the joy of having The Joyful Noise from Maquoketa First lead us in song. We further celebrated with a good Ole Methodist potluck! God has blessed us on many ways!

As we look to this up coming week, we invite you to attend Holy week services with us.

Palm Sunday- 3/29 at 10:30, come at 10 for fellowship
Maundy Thursday- at First UMC Maquoketa at 7pm
Good Friday- at Preston UMC at 7pm
Easter Sunrise service in Delmar at 7am with breakfast to follow.

We would like to thank everyone who supported our fish fry last night by attending, working, passing the word and by praying. This was an awesome event connecting with others we don't see very often and for others visiting at their tables. We are very blessed!

Here are some upcoming events we invite you to join us in:
Lent Bible Study- Feb 15th, March 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29th at 9:15 am, followed by fellowship time and service at 10:30

Feb 18th, Ash Wednesday service at Delmar 7pm
March 25th, Seder Meal at Maquoketa 6pm- let us know if you would like to attend.
April 2nd, Maundy Thursday service at Maquoketa 7pm
April 3rd, Good Friday service at Preston 7pm

Our Fish Fry will be March 27th, 4-7pm. Come and join us for a great meal (Haddock, Baked Potato, coleslaw, Applesauce, and dessert)

An Advent Bible Study will be starting December 4th at 5:30 p.m. at Delmar. We will be having a potluck meal starting at 5:30 p.m. This study will be held in the basement. Please plan to attend and invite others. The future dates will be December 11, December 18 and December 21.
