Help Give Our Neighbors the Dignity of a Grave Plaque - Every Life Deserves to Be Remembered

Sometimes, when a person dies, there is no family to arrange a service, no one to place a marker, no one to pay for their burial. Delaware County ensures our most vulnerable neighbors are laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery—but the county does not provide grave plaques.

Friends of Woodland Cemetery is working to change that. With your help, we will provide simple, respectful grave plaques so every soul is remembered.

Your donation goes directly toward the purchase and placement of these plaques. Every gift—large or small—makes a difference.

Friends of Woodland Cemetery is creating tribute pages for veterans laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery. These online biographies will help preserve the memory of our local heroes and allow future generations to learn their stories.

The holidays can be hard after a loss. There’s no right or wrong way to face them, but support can help. Join us for an evening of tips, tools, and sharing to help you navigate the season.

We’ll talk about both grief after loss and anticipatory grief—the sadness and worry that can come when someone you love is nearing the end of life.

We’ll also take time for a small craft project to help honor your memories and express your grief and love creatively.
Free and open to the public. Refreshments served.

Kids Can Play, Too! 🎉⛳ Registration Now Open for Kids’ Teams!

Calling all young mini-golf champs! We’ve just opened registration for kids’ teams at the Friends of Woodland Cemetery Mini-Golf Tournament—happening Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Putt Putt Van Winkle in Bovina, NY!

For just $40 per kids team (4 players), you get:

🍳 A pancake breakfast (served 9–11 AM)
⛳ One round of mini-golf
🏆 A chance to compete in the playoff round & win fun prizes
🍦 FREE ice cream treats for all kids who play!

⏰ Choose your tee time: 10:00 AM, 11:30 AM, or 1:00 PM (first come, first served!)
📋 Be sure to give us your team name and preferred time when you register.

🚨 All kids teams must be accompanied by an adult.
