Elaine F. Wasserleben, 77, of Tamaqua passed away on April 28 at St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem.

Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital, she was the daughter of the late John and Amelia (Cool) Faust of Delano.

Elaine was a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School, Class of 1965, and the Ashland State General Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse for 38 years, working in the operating room at several area hospitals. Upon retiring from nursing, she was a paraprofessional at the Tamaqua Elementary School.

She was a dedicated member of Faith United Church of Christ, Delano.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Randolph 'Ron' Wasserleben.

Elaine is survived by her son, Randy Wasserleben (Karen); daughter, Amy Butler (John); grandchildren, Nicole (Matthew) and Jacob; brother, John Faust Jr. (Cathy); brother-in-law, David Wasserleben; and nieces, nephews, and cousins, including her great-niece, Peyton, with whom she shared a special bond.

A Celebration of Life service will be Friday, May 2 at 11 AM at the Lamar Christ Funeral Home. Friends and family may call from 9:30 AM until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made in Elaine's name to Faith United Church of Christ, PO Box 45, Delano, 18220.

Faith UCC in Delano is selling the pictured sticky buns. The buns come in 2 boxes and are sold as units. The stickies are not divided in the box, so you can cut them as big or small as you’d like. They are made near State College and sold in the famous Penn State Creamery!
There are 3 choices: Plain Stickies (2 boxes) for $9.00. Nut Stickies (2 boxes) $12.00. Apple Stickies (2 boxes)$12.00.
It is suggested that they are delicious placed in a buttered frying pan to warm them, then eaten plain or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top! Or, use your imagination for your own topping! Orders are due by April 13th.
*Stickies freeze well!
