This Father’s Day, you’re invited to join Grace Chapel for a powerful and meaningful service centered on the power of prayer and unlocking what God has already placed within you. Drawing from Ephesians 1:15–21, we’ll explore how Paul’s prison prayer reveals that wisdom, hope, strength, and purpose are not distant, they’re already present, waiting to be uncovered. Just like the ancient street recently discovered (2022) beneath Ephesus, there are things in your life God has placed within you that may have been hidden, but are ready to be revealed.

This message is especially meaningful for men, but it speaks to everyone. Too often, men are searching outwardly for purpose, clarity, and identity, not realizing what God has already built into them. As John Eldredge writes, “Every man needs a battle to fight, an adventure to live, and a beauty to rescue.” The truth is, you already have what it takes. Through prayer, God begins to uncover that strength, awaken that calling, and reveal that purpose. And for the women joining us, this message speaks just as deeply to your identity and worth. As Stasi Eldredge beautifully reminds us, “You are deeply loved, fiercely wanted, and worth fighting for.” This service is for you too, to be reminded of who you are and what God has placed within you.

Bring your family, invite someone, and come ready to engage. This will be more than a message, it’s an opportunity for reflection, renewal, and realignment. Whether you’re a father, a mother, a son, or a daughter, this Father’s Day at Grace Chapel is a moment to step into deeper understanding, greater confidence, and a renewed awareness of God’s power at work within you.

Life moves fast. The pressure, the pace, the constant noise, it can leave you exhausted and running on empty. But what if the key to becoming more effective in life isn’t doing more… it’s learning how to pause again?

This Sunday at Grace Chapel, join us at 10 AM for a powerful message about rediscovering the pause. You’ll hear about how slowing down can help you hear God more clearly, think more wisely, and live with greater purpose and peace in the middle of a busy world.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or like you can never catch your breath, this message is for you. Come learn how to pause without falling behind.

And remember today: it’s OK to pause. God never intended for you to live without rest. We’d love to see you Sunday at 10 AM.

Pentecost: Speaking the Language of Invitation

Acts 2 | The Boldness of the Holy Spirit

Introduction: A Mission Field Is Moving In

Current statistics suggest that more than 3,000 people will move into Volusia County this summer. They will be coming from all over, and if you can speak their language, they could come to Christ!

The language is very simple: the language of introduction and intentional invitation.

A great first step in leading someone to Christ is simply to introduce yourself to them.

I. The Language of Introduction

When Peter stood up and preached, he introduced himself, and everyone else, to Jesus Christ.

If anyone had reason to be fearful, it would have been Peter. He had just denied Jesus and then watched Him be crucified right before his eyes. Yet he also witnessed the resurrected Christ, and through that encounter, a great boldness came upon him to share the gospel.

The Holy Spirit Produces Boldness

If you receive the Holy Spirit, boldness will come upon your life.

And in that boldness, you will speak to others with an introduction to Jesus Christ.

Acts 2 reminds us that the Holy Spirit does not simply comfort believers, He empowers them to witness.

The same Spirit that emboldened Peter is available to every believer today.

II. The Language of Intentional Invitation

Following the introduction comes the intentional invitation.

Peter did not wait around for people to accidentally understand what was happening. He made sure to intentionally tell them the truth found in the gospel.

He explained who Jesus was.

He declared what Jesus had done.

And he invited them to respond.

Are You Willing to Go to Them?

Are you willing to do more than just wait for someone to accidentally show up at church?

Are you willing to intentionally go to them, with the boldness of the Holy Spirit upon your life, and share the hope that is within you?

Are you willing to invite them to come and experience the hope that you have found in Jesus Christ?

Church growth is not simply about attendance—it is about reaching people with the gospel.

III. Pentecost Is About the Mission

I can promise you this: Jesus cares more about church growth than any of us ever could.

Heaven rejoices when even one person comes to Christ.

Imagine what could happen if everyone here received the holy boldness of Jesus Christ upon their lives and walked out of these doors seeing them not as an exit—but as an entrance into the mission field.

That is what Pentecost is all about.

It is about believers being filled with the Holy Spirit.

It is about speaking the language people need to hear.

It is about introducing people to Jesus.

It is about extending intentional invitations.

It is about stepping into the mission field with boldness.

Closing Challenge

This summer, thousands of people are moving into our county.

They may be searching for belonging.

They may be searching for peace.

They may be searching for hope.

And perhaps God is bringing them here so that you can be the one to introduce them to Jesus.

Speak their language.

Introduce yourself.

Invite them intentionally.

Trust the Holy Spirit to give you boldness.

And walk out these doors ready to enter the mission field.

Grace Kids is excited to launch a brand-new Superbook Academy series titled “The Test,” a three-part journey through the story of Abraham and Isaac beginning June 7. The series begins with an exciting first lesson called “A Relationship With God,” where children will learn what it means to trust God, walk by faith, and grow closer to Him in their everyday lives. This new series is designed to help kids engage with God’s Word in a fun, meaningful, and memorable way while building friendships and becoming part of a Christ-centered environment they can look forward to every week.

Summer is also one of the best times to invite new children to church. Many families are moving into new neighborhoods, and children are meeting new friends throughout the community. Encourage your children to invite new kids they meet to come experience Superbook Academy together. “The Test” is the perfect starting point for new children to jump in, make connections, and feel welcomed from the very beginning. Parents are also encouraged to arrive early on Sunday mornings to allow enough time for check-in so children can be ready for the exciting launch while adults make their way into the 10:00 AM launch of the Ephesians Summer Sermon Series.

In the book of Proverbs, wisdom is personified as a righteous woman, present everywhere, available to everyone, yet accessed only through exaltation. She is exactly where you need her, waiting for you.

The best way to picture her is like a loving mother who is always near. When you need her, all you have to do is cry out and reach up.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (ḥāḵ·māh), and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.”
— Proverbs 9:10 (ESV)

חָכְמָה — Everywhere

She is everywhere you go. Wherever you arrive on this earth, you should expect her to be there. The only way you miss her is by not expecting her.

If you walk into a situation believing you are a failure, you will struggle to recognize wisdom when she is present. Your expectations shape your awareness.

In 1999, country music legend George Jones released the song Choices from his album Cold Hard Truth. In it, he reflects on the consequences of his life decisions. Known as “The Possum,” Jones often failed to show up for concerts, choosing instead a path of self-destruction. His choices led him away from wisdom, not toward it.

At one point, even when he desired change, he was given harmful advice that only deepened his struggle. That’s what life looks like without wisdom—one bad decision leading to another.

But here’s the truth: you do not have to live and die by the choices you’ve made.

Wisdom is still available to you.

Because she is everywhere, she is available right now.

Reach up your arms. Cry out. Let wisdom gather you in. Choose the fear of the Lord, and that is where it begins.

חָכְמָה — Everyone

She is available to everybody. If you exist—and you do—then wisdom is calling out to you. She desires to build you up.

Imagine someone saying, “I will build a beautiful house for anyone who asks.” Now imagine people hearing that invitation and ignoring it.

That is exactly what happens when people ignore wisdom.

She is present. She is available. And she will build your life, if you will simply take the time to respond to her voice.

חָכְמָה — Exalted

There is, however, a condition.

The only way to truly receive wisdom is through the fear of the Lord.

She cannot be found in a life that excludes God or excuses unrighteousness. Wisdom is not simply intellectual—it is spiritual. It flows from a heart that honors God.

To walk in wisdom is to walk in reverence.

Imagine a small child in a crowded room, overwhelmed and unsure. The child begins to cry—not because the mother is absent, but because the child has not yet reached for her.

But the moment the child lifts their arms, something changes. The mother, who was there all along, immediately steps in, lifts the child, and brings comfort, safety, and direction.

That is how wisdom works.

She is not far away. She is not hidden.

But she responds to those who reach for her.

So today, don’t just stand where you are. Don’t stay stuck in past decisions or present confusion.

Physically, even now—open your hands, lift your arms if you need to—and let that be a reminder:

Wisdom is near.
Wisdom is calling.
And when you reach for her in the fear of the Lord, she will lift you into the life God has prepared for you.
