First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in DeLand, Florida centers its worship around the Lord's Supper seeking to revitalize and energize those who would seek to know Jesus and to do His work in our community and around the world. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) was born on the American frontier in the early 1800's by Thomas and Alexander Campbell along with Barton Stone with the

purpose of bringing Christians together on the basis of the New Testament and not denominational doctrines. Thus, we do not have an official doctrine or creed as a requirement for church membership. Following the tradition of the New Testament Church, only a simple confession of faith is required to become a member. We welcome those coming from other denominations by transfer of membership and accept associate memberships with other churches for those who are seasonal residents. We emphasize the ministry of the Laity who serve in worship at the Lord's Table every Sunday to all committed believers in Christ and baptism by immersion for those who have not been previously baptized.

First Christian Church wishes everyone a safe holiday this weekend. While spending time with your family, friends and having fun, please take time to remember all those who have fallen in war fighting for the freedoms we have today. May these ultimate sacrifices always be remembered. Please pray for the families of those lost as well. May God bless each one.

Hi Everyone! As the weekend is on its way, I was thinking about last Saturday morning when the Disciple Men met for their Monthly Breakfast. Breakfast was prepared by some in the Disciple Women's group and shared by all. The Men were blessed to have new friends join them and some old friends return for great food, fun, fellowship and a devotion time led by Rev. David Cortes. FCC is so blessed to have this group active and growing. Men - if you haven't come out to participate, you are missing out! Mark your calendars now for the next Breakfast on June 20th at 8 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. See you there!
