Chaplain Zee Cohen has alerted us to this event happening tomorrow night.

In Zee's words: "Regardless of your political leaning or no political leaning, I want to invite all the Chaplains to a night with Congressmen Cory Mills. The Republican Party Club of West Volusia is presenting a night with Cory Mills and the Republicans Party of Florida Vice Chair.

A short introduction of who he is;
Representative Cory Mills honorably serves as a member of the 118th Congress, representing Floridaโ€™s Seventh District. Raised in Winter Haven, He served with the 82nd Airborne Division and Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), and was appointed under the Trump Administration to the Pentagon as a Department of Defense (DoD) advisor and a foreign policy expert.

While in active duty, Cory was struck twice in 2006, once with an improvised explosive device (IED) and once with an Iranian explosively formed projectile (EFP), which resulted in numerous casualties. His deployments included 7 years in Iraq, 2 years in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Pakistan, and Somalia.

Cory is an American First Patriot who values American lives around the world. He collaborated with an exceptional team to facilitate the evacuation of an American family stranded in Afghanistan after the disastrous withdrawal. He replicated this effort as a Member of Congress when American citizens were stranded during the violent conflict in Israel on October 7, 2023. He and his team managed to rescue nearly 100 Americans out of Israel then charter a flight for additional Americans (between 159-219) and then got home in time to vote in Congress. Additionally, he helped 23 Americans (a Christian group volunteering in Haiti) exit Port-au-Prince, Haiti after their violent Coup.

As you can see, not just an average politician.

Yesterday's DeLand Family YMCA prayer breakfast was a wonderful event!
Our beloved Community Service Chaplain , Mitch Moyer was the keynote speaker at the prayer breakfast held at Stetson University 3/27/24. Mitch inspirationally shared about his days serving our community as principal of Deland HS and the impacts he made there are far reaching! He clearly is a beloved friend of this community, and continues to be as he serves as a CSC at the Deland family YMCA as well as at the Prison and with the Jesus club at the Deland HS.
Two of our CSC's who serve at the YMCA with Mitch are Sandy Schiver in Deland and Cody Keith in Deltona and they both prayed anointed prayers during the program. Cody prayed a prayer for the youth and young adults and Sandy prayed for our Leaders.

There were many folks in attendance including pastors, community service individuals, CSC chaplains and YMCA associates all gathered on the Stetson campus for this groundbreaking event.

May God continue to bless our local Deland family YMCA as it aspires to restore the "C" which stands for the Christian legacy that was a part of the original vision of the YMCA. The CSC's of Volusia County are blessed to be a part of this effort.
