September 4, 1889 : Warren Felt Evans death anniversary

Warren Felt Evans was a former Methodist minister who became a Swedenborgian and went on to become one of the earliest writers and practitioners of the American mind-cure movement, which later influenced New Thought.

Living and working in the Boston area, Evans drew heavily on Swedenborg’s ideas about the relationship between the spiritual and physical worlds. His writings helped carry Swedenborgian thought into new areas of American religious and philosophical life.

Swedenborg House will host a retreat in the last half of October. Details to be announced. It will be a creative collaboration with Rev Sage Cole of "Be Love Be Honest Be Useful" ministry.

As founder of the Helen Keller Collaborative, Rev Sage will give a lecture at a nearby Recreation Centers (tbd) or in the Sanctuary at Swedenborg House, FL. Also during the weekend, we'll have a little Golf Cart fun and enjoy the nightly live music at one of the local Village Squares, just 3 miles away.

As part of that weekend, we will also watch the Helen Keller movie SHINING SOUL produced by the Swedenborg Foundation, which explores what fueled Helen Keller’s long and productive life of triumphant accomplishment, in the face of all odds.
