John 15 1-8
"Staying connected to the vine"
Jesus mentions throughout these 8 verses that he is the VINE, a constant reminder to keep his disciples encouraged. As we move into our destiny, the feeling that we are alone has the potential to creep in. Just as I'm quite certain this same thought ran across the disciples' minds, which is why Jesus had to remind them that he was the VINE.
The vine literally is the source of our nutrients. Everything that we need is intravenously feed through the vine. As long as we are connected then those supplements are passed along to us.
Then he mentions that his Father (God) is the gardener. The Gardeners job is to water, to cultivate the soil, to plant new seeds and to Prune. Pruning is vital to the life of the Tree, because it removes dead, decayed, and infested limbs that could potentially harm the rest of the tree.
Sometimes the pruning process is painful, because some of the limbs that God removes from you may have been connected to you for so long they feel as if they are a part of who you are. Also pruning can leave you vulnerable because it looks like a false sense of security. However the only way for the tree to be strong is to remove the dead ends and allow you the space to grow.
As you give your life to Christ know that he now lives in you and you in him and this tradeoff is far better than any false sense of security.
Life will try to persuade you to be worried that you’re not going to make it. Do not fall for it, the mere fact that you are in Jesus and God is your personal gardener says that not only will you make it but your fruit will be far greater than you started off.
The secret is no matter what you go through, STAY CONNECTED TO THE VINE.
DO NOT ALLOW PEOPLE THAT ARENT CONNECTED TO TELL YOU THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL SURVIVE IS IF YOU FOLLOW THEM..
STAY CONNECTED TO THE VINE AND WATCH THE MASTER WORK IT OUT FOR HIS GLORY AND FOR YOUR GOOD. JOHN 15:8
